So been looking into oryx and as we all know he's the father of crota.
Id like to start off by saying crota was one of several children fathered by oryx. And that crota was the weakest of them all.
Now, second point I'd like to make is oryx is the epitome of darkness. Where crota was considered a God, oryx is in a sense a true God a harbinger of the darkness. The top dog of the hive. How are we supposed to defeat him?
Crota did after all Wipeout the most Powell assembly of guardians ever gathered without breaking a sweat. We can only assume that oryx is much much much more powerful.
We could not beat crota, so how will we be able to beat oryx.

1 ReplyBut we did beat crota. Like. A million times.

1 ReplyIf he is anything like Crota, just pull out your ethernet cable, then just bend him over and make him your b!tch
-
2 RepliesKabr had sex with a sword bearer and made a child that morphs into a super weapon....your welcome
-
All problems in this game can be fixed with high velocity wolf pack rounds.
-
2 RepliesNo Eris couldn't beat crota, but my team could. And hopefully yours. We weakened crota then went in for the kill, the same will be his dad. Or we could just stab a wood steak through his heart works on God's in supernatural.
-
4 RepliesWell oryx has really bad teeth, so we'll lure him to the dentist, knock him out, and then draw dicks all over him and his stupid spaceship.
-
Crota killed an army of guardians. But oryx seems to have a massive ship battle with guardians and the queens ships. Also at the end it seems that oryx destroys all ships including the other Hive ships and leaves a massive hole in Saturn's rings

1 ReplyEdited by Sage 13: 8/7/2015 9:09:00 AMTo me, they thrall seem like gods. Crota, Oryx, Xul, thrall of them. They are darkness incarnate, lurking in the shadows of the knight. But, it doesn't matter if they're gods or not, because hive seen the future, a future in witch the Guardians' light is bright enough to blind the Darkness. And even though I could not come up with a pun for acolyte, I will. And when I do, the Hive will scream in despair, knowing they're lives will soon be ogre, wizard they be gods or not.

3 RepliesWe could not beat Crota? Remember every activity is canon to the story. And the story continues to progress. Chronologically speaking: Destruction of the Black Garden's Heart -----> First successful raid on the Vault of Glass -------> Successful attempt to kill Crota -------> Skolas' capture and later execution. Crota is canonically dead, killed by us Guardians. Clearly why Oryx is coming and clearly why Blades of Crota don't spawn because the Spawn of Crota are gone since the Fist, Might, Hand, Eyes, Heart, and Will of Crota have been destroyed. The Hand, Heart, and Eyes are still around for the sake of Eris' quest. So why say "we could not beat Crota"?

3 RepliesGhost Fragment Hive: 4 Crota and Oryx are indeed unique Hive entities and called "Gods" but they are in fact not Gods. Oryx was created and "Knighted" king by one of four of the Hives actual Gods. Eir. Ur. Xol. Yul. These are the Hive's TRUE GODS and are arguably more powerful than Oryx.

4 Replieseasy. its a game. there will be mechanics in place for us to use (relic and sword for example) and we will most likely g horn him to ground once we have figured out everything :)

5 RepliesEdited by ThirteenJesters: 8/7/2015 4:04:47 AMI'll bet anything we don't kill him at all. Here's what's going to happen. 1) Traveler comes back to life and gives its entire life force (what little of it is left in the ghosts and such) to kill Oryx 2) The Speaker is revealed to be basically the Oryx of the guardians and 1v1's him like a badass 3) We trap him in some super secret device 4) Thousands of guardians Ghost's swarm over him to overwhelm him in light, killing him. 5) Super predictable cutscene featuring hundreds, if not thousands of guardians ending him all together 6) We repeat the crappy Crota stuff and "weaken" Oryx by destroying parts of him like he was -blam!-ing voldemort 7) Super Saiyan god mode activates, probably some bullshit involving combing all of the subclasses energies together 8) Most predictable of all of them that will probably happen, he has some stupid relic that can kill him. I mean, it's not like if you are a super evil mastermind devil god that can destroy entire species that in turn killed the human species. I'm sure that little orb of darkness will kill him just because of -blam!-ing logic 9) Now this, this is so unheard of most of us Destiny players will have a heart attack if this happens. Bungie creates an interesting unique boss fight with multiple steps both in the quest and in the raid that will involve space battles, new mechanics, and hours of preparation to kill him. Edit: Thought of another one 10) Fallen, Awoken, (possibly Cabal), and Guardians team up and do super awesome stuff. I read over that and realized that I got progressively more aggressive with each step..... Anyways I hope it will be number 9 or 10 but I'm guessing it's 3, 5, or 8.

You are trying to make sense of the Destiny "Story" ? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Space Majik because a lot of developers and writers are super lazy now. Just look at the ending of ME3 and what Mac Walters and Casey Hudson did to thr franchise, nearly killed it.
-
6 RepliesI'm sure there is some perfectly reasonable science fiction way of explaining it. Like traveling from his dark dimension into our one weakens him, or damaging his dreadnought does, or by killing his son we have a severed a tie... ...or someone will say they just don't have time to explain.

Edited by Dash Woodson: 8/7/2015 7:24:10 AMMan how cool would it be, or have been because it most certainly won't be the case, if killing Oryx in the next raid was a 1% deal? You could still beat the raid by making Oryx retreat when he feels he had loss, but actually herding him in to strike the final blow would take a team like no other. It would take calculated risks. A strategy beyond a single YouTube cheese video. It would give the victor something to be proud of. It would essentially make sense with the overall story. Chances are, a single raid would not kill Oryx.. Keep him alive for a later time. If it is so easy to kill all these bosses, what's the point.. Throw some level 40 armor on the speaker, give em a GHorn, pat his back and tell him to head back to the tower in an hour after his victory because I've got some ish to buy lol Edit: Oh but wait.. We can't have anything that only a few people can achieve.. I'm looking at you Elitists

Edited by GeneralPoe: 8/7/2015 7:18:35 AMIf we do beat Oryx I think they might be removing the Fallen from the story and ending their chapter. They are the guardians most immediate threat having ran us from the moon and now seeding earth. I have a feeling Bungie will kill this race off and introduce new races to fear in the future. I mean I can't see the Hive story being bigger than the Vex who control time and have a bigger part in our future than we know. Between the Fallen/Cabal and Vex, the Hive seem like more of a primitive threat. I can't see the Cabal being main antagonists to the story either. I think they will always play the background and get in our way in the future as we end them too.

We have the power of the cheese
-
2 RepliesSimple, the newest wave of guardians have one very special skill the past didnt.
We have the power to cheese him.
-
I;m gonna say, by using lots of bullets
-
It makes me think the raid won't have a pretty tidy ending. We're probably going to fight another one of his children and in the end we're just going to sever his connection this this realm and send him back. Not kill him
