I went over to my cousins today and his 2 14 year olds were playing cod. Theyre the tyoe that skip the campaign and just binge multiplayer. Anyway i played world at war but havent done cod pvp since, i always like campaigns so ive just rented them. Anyway i think its a great chance to test all the comparisons i see. So heres what i came out with.
Killing someone is super quick and easy. A sniper to the body, super long range shotguns, low hp and one HUGE thing...
The Aim Assist.
All my cousin would talk about and try was no scoping and he showed me trick shot vids. I mean the autoaim when u aim down scope is insane and stupid imo.
I played him 1v1 and was gettin out sniped (he had some insane autoaim barreta 50 call that shoots hella quick, i had the guns i get when u nake a new character) so went in with my shotty... and wrecked him.. over and over and over. It was even hard o swear the range is 3x what it is, plus the low health.
The quick killing really took away the best parts of destiny pvp. Getting into an actual engagement that lasts, it was barely there in cod.

CoD is a twitch shooter- it's all about reaction time and position. It's nothing like Halo (or destiny) where gunplay and outsmarting an opponent after the first shot is fired truly play a role. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm saying that they are completely separate sub-genres. I personally try to take the best of both worlds- Halo SWAT is amazing.

That seems true, never played a twitch shooter. My main pvp exp is destiny halo n the old cod world at war. It was so much different than destiny. Even the long time to switch weapons and aim down scope change the game. Also i was using stock weapons, i think the perks gelp these alot. But damn the shotgun range. It was fun tho

Especially Hardcore Team Deathmatch is... it's fun by my hands cramp up after playing for a long time. It takes a certain amount of skill (well, for a console shooter anyway) to get enough kills to get killstreaks without camping.

Used to love playing with the SVU-AS (or however you spell it- the sniper). One shot kill, every time. Never did find out if that was "noobish", the ttk was so low on every weapon.
