I've recently heard that our hard-earned Destiny Legendary gear will not ascend past its current stats when The Taken King comes out. Does this mean we have been wasting our time getting etheric light to upgrade our current legendary weapons to 365 which will mean nothing compared to weapons coming out with TTK? This is not fair. I know its because Bungie wants us to use the new legendary weapons as they say their armory will be bigger than ever but who says we won't use them if they are equally or [b]slightly[/b] better than our old 365 legendary weapons (that may even make us want to dismantle some old ones). [b] If anything, A solution can be at-least to make it harder to upgrade 365 ATTACK weapons to the new MAX ATTACK, for example needing 5 or 10 etheric light instead of 1 for the next ascension. Not many players have alot of etheric light so it would not be easy to upgrade all of our old legendary weapons. If not this, give us another difficult or time consuming way of further ascending old legendary weapons than no way at all. Also this does not have to be right when the TTK DLC comes out, a later chance to ascend old legendary weapons will still give value to our Year 1 "Legend". I personally believe this is way better than making our hard earned legendary weapons obsolete. He said that there are still plenty of situations where they can be used effectively. "If you love your Fatebringer, there are still a lot of great places you can use it," he stated. "In normalized Crucible [competitive multiplayer], where power is on an equal playing field, your Fatebringer is still going to be a force to be reckoned with. There are still patrols where it'll be relevant, obviously when you go back to play the old raids, it'll be time to dust off that old Vision of Confluence... There's always a perfect tool for any job in Destiny. So those [b]"Year 1 weapons are absolutely going to be relevant, don't dismantle them, there's still going to be a time when you need to use them."[/b] I think this is hinting that with the new DLC, weapons such as vision of confluence and fatebringer will no longer be acquirable or replaced and this will keep us unique from new players.
