8 RepliesEdited by automatic7shot: 8/7/2015 2:27:07 PMStory time! I used to play Skyrim a LOT. Anyways, my favorite blacksmith was the first one you get to visit, the one in Riverwood. Loved the dude. Something about smithing there felt... Homey. Anyway, I was smithing one day and a dragon attacked the town. Oh heeeeelllll no not MY town! So I promptly destroyed the dragon that was plaguing the town. In the process, I accidentally killed a chicken that was in the middle of the road. Were the villagers happy I saved their town from the evil dragon? Nope. Instead, they were enraged that I accidentally killed A CHICKEN. One SOLITARY CHICKEN. Long story short, I had to flee. I come back a couple of days later to do some blacksmithing, and what do I find in the middle of the road? Not a chicken.
but the MOTIONLESS CORPSE OF ALVOR THE BLACKSMITH LAYING RIGHT WHERE THE CHICKEN WAS
It's like they knew. They fucking knew he was my favorite. And they killed him. I almost reset my character to get him back. But I just couldn't. I was too far along. I had my own funeral for him and everything. The villagers? Walked around him like he wasn't even there.. I had to drag him to the woods to do a proper burial. Poor guy. EDIT: Added last paragraph because it needed to be said.

My fear of killing chickens began as a child while playing the early Zelda games.

I have. But I'm on PC....

Everyone has.

1 ReplyI had too he was the last witness

I killed one....... and lived

Of course, it's the best way to play skyrim

8 RepliesMy fear of harming domesticated poultry extended deep into my Witcher 3 playthrough. Then I learned that 1) no one cares, and 2) you need to kill them to get feathers for crafting. I now igni the hell out of them, though it's far less satisfying than chasing and torching bunnies.

you need the NARC mod. it stands for No Animals Report Crimes. because bethesda had a dumb moment and programmed the vanilla game so that animals walk up to guards off the screen and report you. mostly goats and chickens. this is a real phenomena. this mod fixes that and removes that part of the animal AI package.

I don't always kill chickens, but when I do they explode and send me flying through the air. -Kevin VanNord

Playing ESO now and I saw a chicken, walked in the biggest arc around that bloody thing. Not this time buddy

One time I accidentally punched a dog...

They're not chickens, they're stool pigeons!
-
There is no accidents. I killed it on purpose. Then regretted it afterwards.
-
Did that in whiterun at level 2 as well..20 minutes later I was level 15 and had a 10,000 bounty
-
"accidentally" Yeah of course. And I definitely didn't end up murdering everyone for opposing my decision to kill the lowly creature. Nope never happened.
-
To be fair I don't blame them chickens are great pets
-
1 ReplyLegend of Zelda taught me never to attack chickens
