Not sure if this has been discussed as yet, but I have tried this out and it works. The only catch is that you have to get it on the first two-three "ticks" or it doesn't stop and you will die. I became suspicious when double headshots were consistently not killing one particular team in trials last week and then a friend of mine told me to try this trick. If you do not believe me, all I can say is try it for yourself. If you've played enough crucible (and copped enough Thorn bullets to the head) you know exactly when Thorn burn is going to kill you and when it isn't. Again I must re-iterate that if you wait too late, you will still die, you have to catch it early. EDIT: found thread about it which says its false. I sitll believe it needs to be looked into further however
