Cortana wouldnt be able to hack ghost, ghost is centuries ahead in technology, and can move about on its own. Sure she can hack covenant and forerunner technology, but can she hack sentient light-based mechanical lifeforms? No.
Ghost however, could easily shut down cortana and master chiefs suit, putting him in a sleeping state where any kinderguardian could walk up and disintegrate chief with a slap.
But guardians don't play cheap like that, we would fight chief head on, and definitely win.

Is that why Ghost don't even try to take down Captain shields? Or Centurions? Yeah, mhm. Sure.

Ghosts aren't made for battle, they rely on their guardian for the dangerous work while they do the technical parts. Im sure Ghost could disable an enemy shield, but it would have to get close and laser it's shield emitter, and why would they do that when a guardian can disintegrate it in seconds? The answer is, they don't need to. If the guardian is killed, ghost will just rematerialize them, so why put the extra effort?

Ha if you've played both games then you know. I don't need proof, it's fact. Destiny takes place in a time far ahead of the events in halo. Plus, if you were to think for a moment about what ghost really is, it would be completely obvious how much more advanced the tech is. Damn fanboy, accept the truth
