Why does shoulder charge count as melee kill, but throwing knife does not?
Edit: Thread name changed due to community retardation (not all, obviously, some put up an amazing argument, and have ultimately answered my original question)
The throwing knife gets a buff when brawler is active, which is a melee boost. But for example, during the Iron Banner and crucible bounties, shoulder charge counts as a melee kill, but throwing knives do not.
I know its a 'ranged weapon' but still sits in the melee slot. And it still considered the hunter's melee ability, just like the titan and warlock have flame punch, energy drain melee, etc

It'd be unbalanced. I main gunslinger, my alt is a striker. Charge is no good in the current meta. And that's tons of pounds of metal smashin into you.

I think the throwing knife should do a tad bit more damage than it does. Enough to take the shield down or if no shield kill you

2 RepliesMaybe an exotic for throwing knives could make up for it. I think it should be decreased recharge time for your knives, but all precision hits do extra damage.

Im guessing because the sheer force of a titan charging at you would break every bone in your body and a knife would just damage your armor

Almost every time I stab someone in the face it takes more than one hit unless you really get it in there.

No. It makes total sense that a person slamming into you that weighs around 300 pounds fully armored would kill. Especially when concentrated on a small area like the shoulder or knee. Blunt force trauma can bypass most armor. But it totally makes sense that a 3 pound knife would kill instantly through a helmet. Will it damage the armor? Oh my yes. But kill? Probably not. Before you use logic. Know logic

Your Guardian is wearing armour. I will use the example of a suit of armour a knight would wear. Throw a flaming knife at the head of that suite it will just scratch it maybe dent it at most. Now imagine a titan shoulder charging into that suit whatever is inside the suite would be crushed inside.

Armour that can crack concrete by stepping on concrete slamming into you at high velocity won't break your bones. It will make you pop. Throwing knife could hit that microscopic spot in your brain that doesn't kill you, just turns you into a vegetable.

2 RepliesBump! I can see if throwing a knife is weak (almost impossible to get it to land tip-first every time in real life) but why doesn't STABBING any character in this game not kill them? Or why don't over-penitrating rounds kill in one headshot?

By the logic saying that throwing knifes should one shot headshot, then thorn should be a ohk. Its -blam!-ing bullets are bigger than a throwing knife

We have armour on which limits the knife. We activate jet packs as we charge with the shoulder. Why they jump forward. I assume their logic says the thrust is a he'll of a lot.

I wish they would add another perk option like added choice of "Knife impale". Much more limited range obviously but would deal great damage. I lost count how many times a enemy would get just within range to disable my throwing knife & I would just melee the air, drives me nuts when that happens
