Year one legendary armor and weapons: There will be no ascend option for them into The Taken King

So all our old gear from Vault of Glass, Crota's End raid, endless strike grinding, PvP grinding, Iron Lagger, Trials of Osiris, etc. are all just... obsolete in a snap upon release of The Taken King. So why even bother with The Dark Below DLC, why bother hunting the Wolves, why participate in Trials of Thorns, why put up with Iron Lagger when it means nothing in the end?! Hundreds to thousands of hours of grinding for awesome gear down the drain with each new 'Expansion release'?! C'mon Bungie!
Well I guess that's their way of phasing out old gear that is by far the best into forcing us to invest in new gear(likely crappy)... I can understand the MMOish state of Destiny, but what is bothersome here is the lack of communication from Bungie. Tell us as much detail as possible sooner rather than later so that we don't feel like we've wasted time grinding for nothing, and instead make it seem like we're going towards progress. These last minute announcements not long from release of content is agitating.
Luke Smith, my old 'toys' we're the best, your new 'toys' in The Taken King so far don't have spectacular rolls, and are all not that impressive beyond cosmetics!

1 ReplyI have averaged 3 hours a day on Destiny since I first bought it early this year. The only thing less depressing than that is that all those hours will be for almost nothing. My Favourite Guns including Exotics go; 1. Secret Handshake (Bought from Vendor) 2. Fatebringer 3. Fang of Ir Yut / Vision of Confluence 4. Gjallarhorn 5. Black Hammer The helmet I rock on my hunter is the VOG one. Because it looks badass! and not many people bothered ascending theirs. To know that most of these weapons/armour will be useless makes me equal parts sad and angry. How can Bungie want to make all of our hours we have played for almost nothing? I don't care if it's what is usually done in MMOs. If it was done from the start and it wouldn't be as big a problem. Im attached to my weapons now. I want a choice whether or not to use the new weapons. The only good thing to come out of all of this is that I will be able to go back to playing all of the games I have bought and not opened. The amount of gaming hours that will open up to me when I QUITE DESTINY will be a breath of fresh air. Bloodborne still in the plastic wrap. Not much longer. This might all sound a bit pety and like an overreaction. But like all gamers I spend my gaming hours where I want and I don't like having all my past gaming hours put into a game be for almost nothing. #SAVEOURWEAPONS

3 Repliesunless bungie wants to prove me wrong... they don't care about the gamers. they are only in it for the cash... more than any company I've ever seen to be honest. twilight had a better story than this shit... I've never seen it... I've only heard... I think is time for the gamers to either teach bungie they're lesson, or keep being abused in this game... where the diversity??? where's the person who sucks at raids and PvP (me) yet can do strikes bad campaigns??? all I saw where dark below came out was a bunch of jack knife hunters and Crota hunters... same for other classes... you don't make your own legend.. you just make one that's as interesting as the next guy... you all look the same and if you had to find someone through game chat you'd be lucky if some guy didn't even have the same cape... I wish Bungie still cared about its players... and not about what they think is always right... R.I.P original Bungie... -blam!- you new Bungie... Bungivison...
