True skill vs OP weaponry, what is better ?
What's the difference between a truly skilled player with a handgun and a generally OP handgun ? Well, in my experience in the crucible, people love the thorn because it's second best to hawkmoon and alot easier to get! But just because alot of people use it doesn't mean it is OP! My redhand kills faster than the thorn! Personally people don't realise that when a player is truly skilled with a weapon and u keep dying to that players weapon, the weapon isn't OP, the players skill is OP! So should the weapon still get nerved? And no I am not defending thorn, and personally I love the gun but it annoys me in crucible, the less people who use it the better ? What do u think ?

I also think that Thorn is a great gun and of the best exoitcs in the game but sadly not all exotics are as overpowered -- they should [i]all[/i] be Thorns of their respective weapon type rather than shard worthy teavesties like Pocket Infinity and Super Good Advice. People don't like to die by Thorn's burn. The range, power and rate of fire would all be overlooked if you weren't constantly passing away in a green mist after escaping around a corner, seemingly surviving a gunfight only to melt away seconds later. Reduce that burn so that scenario happens far less (which it looks like they've done) and the whining about Thorn being OP will stop. Lastly, I find Thorn is only truly annoying to those who haven't bothered to get one for themselves. It did annoy me in Crucible before I had it but I really think nothing of it anymore.

2 RepliesActually, looking at damage numbers there is no way that a Red Hand IX can kill faster than a thorn, just statistically. Unless your particular Red Hand had LITC and it activated on one of your shots...but base damage no, Thorn is one of the fastest TTK in crucible at the moment.
