If your primary weapon slot inventory is full (holds 9 weapons, 10 if you count your equipped weapon) your reward will be at the post master instead of your inventory. That is probably what happened.

Nope not at the postmaster I checked because I had to turn in a bounty besides that I only have my equipped primary weapon no other with me unless loot but thats never more than 3 or 4

Then IDK man. Never heard of this happening before. I have played hundreds of strikes and crucible matches and have always gotten what it had shown that I was awarded. Good news is you will get another legendary drop more sooner than later. Much easier to get since HOW dropped.
