Do you want weapon ascending in TTK?
I want weapon ascension. I dont have any space for all the new weapons, and if you read the last section of the weapon rebalance youll notice all weapons are going to have shit roles in terms of perks. Plus whats the point of getting all this gear if we cant use it. They said they dont want us married to the same guns yet they are going to force us away from all the weapons from launch, TDB, and HoW. And only leave us with TTK weapons. Thats so stupid and childish. Were married to TTK guns then! What if we like certain weapons? Too bad? Oh, you spent hours upon hours grinding for that weapon? Too -blam!-ing bad we want you too use our new weapons.
Edit: It doesn't matter actually, we will have to delete all of our old weapons to have space for these new weapons. So we wont have anything to ascend anyway.

3 RepliesIf there is no reason to grind new weapons the content will get boring. As it sits not many people play poe if they are 34 because they already had the most powerful guns in the game before HoW dropped. I find myself only doing nightfalls, weekly heroics, and crucible anymore.

2 RepliesYou are limiting our poll options by making it sound like we [i]want[/i] to lose all the stuff, I'm still keeping my FB, BH, etc but I can see where they are coming from. They want more PvE and PvP diversity and I have no problem with that. Using all the best guns get boring eventually, I put a Suros Regime in Dragon strikes to have fun, that is why I do not care that the old weapons will become obsolete, also [b]a lot[/b] more weapons are coming to replace them in TTK. - [i]trusty[/i]

I want to keep and ascend some. Too bad they can't let us choose five or so.

I'd like to keep my exotics at least. The legendary weapons I won't miss TOO much since they new weapons look alot better, sound better (although anything would sound better than current auto rifles). At some point firearms have to evolve. You're not going to keep using that old musket forever, some day you'll have to upgrade to an XM500. Similar point with armor, there's only so far you can take body armor with refits and upgrades. Does that suck? Hell yeah it does, I busted my ass and suffered through the Crucible to get my Titan's full Objekt 959 armor set and I wore it proudly. Eventually though you just have to move on.

Why bother with new weapons? The whole point of expansions are to get better loot and not just to ascend old loot... Also it's not a waste of time. You still got to use them. Now it's time to move on. People were complaining about lack of weapons and then they just ascended old ones... Now they're adding new and better weapons and people are still complaining. I shouldn't really be surprised based on this community on the forums here. Anyways, I'm excited for all the new stuff and can't wait to play.

Just because I don't want weapon ascension doesn't mean everything I've done is a waste. It's how games that have even a slight RPG aspect to them work. Have your ever played Diablo?

I think I'd like to borrow something from COD. As we start the taken king give each character so 3 max a prestige token. You may use it on any 1 gun on that character and it would put the damage to be on par with the new weapons. The catch is that once you prestige it, that weapon is tied to that character. So if I use a prestige on my fatebringer on my Titan, I can't use that same max damage fatebringer on another character. I think this would still let us hang on to some of our old stuff but make it where we can't choose everything. Also if you delete a character whatever weapon you prestiged is now gone and so is that token.

Would I like ascending? Sure. But am I mad that there isn't? Not in the least. I want fresh guns. I don't want to have to use the same gun for 10 years, and I think this is Bungie pushing us to do so

Biased much. I personally don't mind leaving our old stuff behind. The whole point of the game is to acquire new and more powerful loot. That IS the gameplay. If we can just keep upgrading the old stuff, it gets boring.

As long as the exotics stay with us (from what they have indicated these will) then I am good. Legendaries fall so new ones can rise.
