You know what the sad part is, you can actually go to his bungie profile and look at his grimoire cards and it does in fact verify that he had all the exotic weapons. How hard is it for bungie to restore what they know he already had? This is the ultimate fail in "customer service". This is just completely inept, a mod moves the post to help then tells him there is no help, someone should tell Anidien that if there is no help available then just leave it alone. Moved to "help" what ridiculous b.s.

  • You can see his Grimoire score? Bc all it's telling me is his activity. I don't see any Grimoire score so how are you seeing what cards he's got?

  • As soon as I click on his name, all it does is take me back to the app and I don't see anything about a Grimoire score or a level one character

  • It isn't bungies responsibility to secure XBL & PSN accounts. There are safeguards available to keep these types of things from happening. You also can't expect bungie to fix things when people aren't smart enough to secure their shit.

  • By your reasoning you should be responsible for such things as a stolen cc or identity as you could have done more to protect yourself. So don't file anything with the bank if your credit card is hacked it's your own fault suffer the loss. If your identity is stolen screw it your loss for being careless. This may only be a game but we live in a digital world where people have online items stolen all the time. Maybe it's not bungie.net fault but they should fix it its not that difficult.

Then you're not understanding my reasoning. If one account gets hacked and they get your cc number yes it's on you because you didn't secure it. It's on you to call your bank and whatnot. If you're referring to the Sony hack last year no that's on Sony because they got account info for millions from Sony's servers not individuals consoles. In this instance Sony should reimburse individuals and repair where they can. If bungie was to restore this guys characters they would open the flood gates for requests to restore things because people are too dumb to use the tools available to keep this from happening. I feel bad for the op but it's fault for not securing his shit.

  • But it is your fault for trusting Sony with your information you could have prevented any financial loss by not saving cc information on your account. If you read sony's terms of agreement for psn they are not responsible for and I quote scea makes no warranties or representations ...no liability or responsibility for...unauthorized access to...(sec 13) limitation of liability...any unauthorised access to or use of our servers of any and all non-secure personal information ... So Sony defines what is secure and what is not. You agreed to their terms they tell you they are not responsible then it's our fault suck it up. Am I correct that this is your stance that even though you agreed to their terms that they are still responsible, yet any other hack leaves the user on their own. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

  • Again you're not comprehending what's relevant to this situation and once again trying to put words in my mouth. I don't know Sony's contract because I don't play on their console so I don't care. My point is it isn't bungies responsibility to fix the op's situation. Nobody hacked Microsoft's servers to get his information. They hacked his account because his safeguards either weren't in place or so inadequately set that the hacker was able to bypass them. If bungie would remedy this guys problem if would only end in these forums being flooded with restoration requests(valid and invalid) that they would have to form an entire team just for this. Moral of the story is change your passwords/security questions often, don't make them easy to guess, don't give your information out and use every tool at your disposal to ensure this doesn't happen.

  • When you use the Sony hack as an example--which you did-'you say it is Sony who should make it right even though ps users agreed to the terms . I can pull up Microsoft's TOS if you want I am positive that says the same thing so if Microsoft gets hacked and you get your p.i. jacked do not come crying. It's also illegal to hack an account on top of it fyi.

  • Are you capable of staying on topic because it seems you have serious problem in that area? Duh I know hacking is illegal. Please re-read our conversation and see how you're jumping around and not comprehending things.

  • I only brought up that hack because you didn't comprehend and misconstrued my initial reply but to satisfy whatever debate you're wanting to have for some dumb reason. Sony did settle with players after that big hack but again this isn't relevant to the op's situation. You turned it into this conversation after you didn't comprehend my first reply.

  • Sony only settled after being sued. So you had to jump through hoops etc etc to get compensation, which was a game, and then more hoops to get the game. Also they limited their liability to 2500 dollars, so if you got screwed over and someone racked up 6000 dollars on your credit card, well you were screwed. I never misconstrued your initial reply, you feel that bungie has no obligation to a customer who's account was hacked. Your assumption is poor password protection etc etc. You have no clue how the account was hacked you only assumed that it was poor security on the questions and password or poor security elsewhere. There are multiple other ways to gain access to an account without someone having a weak account password, sharing their account, or not changing security questions. Obviously microsoft took action to correct the issue(ie good customer support) where bungie just throws the issue in the help section and tells them well there is no help. God help you if you get your account screwed, I am sure you would be the first one whining because your security is so good there is no way it could be hacked. So when someone is logging internet activity while you are playing trials, and your ip is uncovered and you are booted because the opponent flooded your router with packets, which seems to be one of the ways to cheat in trials, don't come screaming that you took a loss and couldn't go flawless. There are so many issues with this game that are still not fixed, that a simple gesture of replacing what someone stole shouldn't be an issue. Its called good customer service, do what is the nice thing to do, not avoid it because it is inconvenient. But in the end you are right, it is not bungie's responsibility to fix a hacked account, but it is a good example of how little they care about their customer base, once they have your money, your are SOL.

People were compensated up to $2500 yes but even if they racked up $30k on your card you're not liable for that. It takes a lot of work but you won't have to pay that money. What you're not taking into account is bungie cannot confirm on their end the account was hacked. Yes they could contact Microsoft but they won't. All they see on their end is valid deletion requests. Also I don't know of many games that would restore lost items. That would take an entire team to investigate and resolve those issues. Not to mention the people that will just beg for things. Bungie would still have to investigate those things to determine them to be false. I could see it being there responsibility if someone hacked a bungie.net account and could delete stuff via app/website but since it was the console account I can't say I blame them for not doing this.
