• All the names make sense, why change them? Warthog- the vehicle actually bears resemblance to a Warthog. Iconic in Halo. Mongoose- It's small and quick. That's pretty much it. Scorpion- It looks like a goddamned scorpion. Elephant- It's huge and kind of really slow. And the horn's hilarious. Pelican- It's a transport vehicle and it's AWESOME. Not evaluating the Halo Wars vehicles- I love the game, but there's too many. Also, the Longsword isn't named after an animal, nor are any of the ships. Covenant vehicles are mostly named with synonyms to poltergeist- ghost, banshee, shade, wraith, phantom, the likes. These names are given to these crafts by the UNSC's marines a majority of the time, as are the names of the Covenant. And it works. @jfarag95: Well yeah, but I'm bored and it's 3:18AM and I can't sleep. [Edited on 03.17.2009 12:18 AM PDT]

 • Guys, this guy is a troll, some kid made the same exact topic like half an hour ago, and now he just "thought of the idea"? I think the other kid who made this deserves the posts/ comments.

 • Don't forget the Albatross (the crashed UNSC ship in the Halo 2 map Relic [and I believe in Sandtrap as well]) And the Covenant vehicles are all named after ghost-like appiritions. We've got the Ghost, Shadow (the ground transport vehicle, used for transporting mass amounts of troops across the battlefield. This vehicle made an appearance in the Halo 2 campaign mission "Outskirts") Shade, Banshee, Wraith, Phantom, whatever the U-Shaped ones were called, and the Spectre. The only two exceptions are the Prowler and the Chopper, but those are Brute vehicles, likely developed pre-Covenant, like the Mauler.

 •
Posted by: piggily wiggily The covenants vehicles have a supernatural theme. Ghost, Banshee, Spirit, Spectre, Shadow, Wraith, Phantom, Vampire etc.
Mostly on the undead side of supernatural.

 • As it was said before, all UNSC (Human) vehicles are the names of animals. (Hornet, Warthog, Mongoose, Scorpion, Pelican etc.). Covenant vehicles ( before the Brutes took over) tend to be towards names of spectral entities or spirits. (Banshee, Ghost, Phantom, Wraith etc.) It's just how it is. I think the names suit the vehicles and they don't need to change a thing.
