For me the answer is threefold,
1: I gain crucible grim which is most of what I'm missing
2: the bounties amp up my guns and armor
3: etheric light

100% agree. I enjoy IB, especially with a full team of clan members. I think it's more enjoyable than ToO, but I can't say for sure because I've never really been able to give trials a true shot. Yes the armor is light leveled, but they solved that by making EL available to purchase. The bounties make it so easy to level weapon or armor you need to and the map rotation (which hasn't always been the best...or consistent) is better than being on one map for the duration of the event.
