Weekly What's Update: Massive Attack!
And lo, we finally give up a date for the autoupdate that will kill cheating, fix glitches and do some cool stuff you totally didn't expect. Read this update to have your expectations rocked hard.

well i have yet to play with the new update because i lost my power plug so i cant power on my xbox!!! idiot!!! can anyone tell me if the update is as good as expected and does anyone know when the stats are going to be reset?? Im a 17 now but i was 19 at one point and because of all the standby used my stats are screwed so i dont really mind the reset!!

ThAnKs BuNgIe, so much i can finally play a matchmade game without worrying about being host and worried about losing my rank tysm and the weapon changes are awsome the game is so much funner now today i have played 40 games i have only lost 4 and 2 tied games these changes are so awsome. Just wondering though when are u reseting the ranks because if it is soon i dont know why i played a bunch of ranked games in the first place i would just like to know.....when are the new maps coming out??? all my friends on xbox live always ask me for the updates on bungie and i would like to tell them. TYSM

> frankie, usually i wouldn't bother u about such things, but i have been a proud and devoted bungie and halo member for a very long time, and i would never cheat or do anything to interfere with halo 2 online play. the situation i'm in is that i just recently purchased action replay after advise from a friend, and experimented with using some of the options it made available, i did download a profile known as "a caring muslim" but i did not know it's power, and i absolutely didn't use it in matchmaking, and i wasn't warned about the violation at any time from bungie or xbox live, but after the update i have been permanently banned from matchmaking. i cannot allow this to happen, after paying $50 for xbox live, i demand full use of it since i did nothing wrong, and i really hope u can help me or at least guide me in the correct direction because i've looked all over bungie.net and xbox.com, and i havent found any topics on the bans, so please help me. u can contact me at hommie_1900@hotmail.com. thanks, an honest spartan, Diesel

personally, I believe that this ruined halo 2's matchmaking...no one knows what weapsons are good, grandades are WAY to powerful (people just throw them over and over-NO FUN) and many of the changes were pointless. Yes i am happy about the fixes of cheating and glitches but the weapons are retarded now and granade fights suck. Good job Bungie, all ya had to do was fix cheats and you shot the game to hell [Edited on 4/18/2005]

can somone please let me know what is going on. i have the update. i was able to play one game with it, and now whenever i eneter match making it starts off fine, but then it never lets me actually play. i can talk to people when im in the find players screen, and once every 20 minutes or so itll let me play a game. i cant even do custom games or even the campaign now. is there anyway the update didnt fully install? is there anyway to delete it and do it agian, because i cant find it in the halo memory slot on the hard drive. i havent heard of anyone else complain of things like this. ive reset my router, and my xbox more than once. i just want to play the game i paid for. i want to use my xbox live account that i payed for. can someone help me?

Last week you wonderful folks at Bungie mentioned that you would release more info on the new multiplayer maps that were coming out. Why hasn't Bungie said anything about the new maps this week? Does it have to do with the fact that you guys are resetting the stats and if so will you be releasing them then as downloadable content? sounds like bungie did a good job but what do u mean by improperly booting people and whats w\ mean but i guess its awsome how they can ban people almost intantly from matchmaking that cheat by useing standby even in custom games i lol at those idiots

Chocolate covered pretzel frankie? Seriously though, the update kicks total ass! The needler damage has been increased to the power that was implied at E3 last year. Heavens above! I can finally take out those close standing -blam!-es w/ my pistol whip, hoo-rah! No more flag glitch through walls or standby yippee! What I haven't noticed is the brute shot power has increased, but I hope that's the case cause that gun sucked (except pistol whip). Now if only we can fix jump boarding to a moving vehicle and that fact that people w/ lag are getting booted improperly because of the a "standby" fix . Bravo, Bungie! The game feels and plays better than before due to the new weapon balance. SAKY

i think the update didnt do anything at all. i am still getting killed by that plasma pistol battle rifle combo and the only thing i notice is the nades

You either fix it or leave it, you can't just turn it off and on at will... they are loopholes in the game's "laws of physics" or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah, I can tell a large difference about grenades and melee attacks. But the plasma pistol/ battle rifle combination is still the same and I really hate that combo. But good work otherwise.

Oh come on, you yet again ram your way though the oposition and reclaim your glory, and this time you can insult them in diffent ways. LOL, look at it as a chance to start anew and have a better Win/ loss ratio. Oh yeah when were those maps coming out again.

This sucks that the cheats are gone. Will the Super Jump still be there? Oh yeah, if it is, it sucks real hard. I don't like this one bit. My rank is going to be reset. I worked hard to get it to where it is, and all you do is be -blam!- and make it go down. I HATE THIS UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you bungie, for balancing the game out some more. I hated that dual wielding seemed to ALWAYS win. I thought that it was overpowered, especially with the magnum. The increase in melee attacks will make close combat more interesting, and decrease the almighty power of the sword. With the grenades increased, a skilled player with a grenade becomes very dangerous. This takes away from the power of noobs with rockets and the "i shoot i win" mentality

People did use the Rocket sword glitch in match making! And they stated that they can not fix stanby!!
