I have become more aware of why I like some weapons but not others. There this intangible thing about certain weapons that make them feel great to use. I know this is the purposeful yet subtle work of the weapon designers. I think that the weapons you prefer comes down to not only their stats but also how these appeal to your senses.
Some examples:
I adore high impact low RoF hand cannons (e.g Ill Will, Timur's Lash). They feel hefty and powerful. The faster, more stable, but lower impact HCs often out match the high impact ones on paper (e.g. Red Hand XI, Revelator) but feel unsatisfying and "insubstantial" somehow.
I want to use pulse rifles because of their stats but I find they feel really annoying to use. I just simply don't like their "pulsyness" or how they sound. Bad Juju is border line acceptable and I have not used the Red Death yet so maybe that one will feel great.
I recently got the Suros Regime and it just feels like a million bucks (looks great, sounds great, feels great). Other ARs are mostly blah in terms of feel.
What weapon or class just feels right to you and why does it feel that way?

I like a weapon that does not fire too slow and doesn't shake too much. Kinda ironic that I love using no land beyond.

Edited by WyvernKiller02: 8/3/2015 11:48:58 PMSlow firing pulse rifle <3 Middle impact auto rifle (like for the people) Slow firing hand cannon (timurs lash) Slow firing scout rifles (scholar) Middle fire rate sniper (ldr 5001) Slow charge fusion rifle (plug one.1) <3 Fast fire rate shotgun (invective) Rocket launcher (all are the same) Middle fire rate mg (zombie apocalypse) <3

I feel that Low impact AR are alive, that's a reason to love Necro. The gun gives a tiny fight to hit to the head, rewards for doing that said foght to the victory.
-
Use a messenger or a rightly rolled hopscotch/spare change. You'll love it especially if you prefer low rate of fire/high impact
-
LOVIN mida right now in terms of feel - I feel like a feather using a hand cannon with tremendous range and bigger magazine
-
I've never really used scout rifles a whole lot until recently, but The Scholar from the Trials Of Osiris is a great feeling weapon once leveled all the way
-
Hard Light feels amazing, can't wait until it gets beefed up a bit. Before the AR nerf I was pretty good with it.

The six dreg pride or the uncommon hand cannon Maverick MK. 32 feel really crisp to me and I love it.

I love scout rifles and auto rifles a lot. I want to use hand cannons but I'm awful with them unless I use thorn and pulse rifles are just ok
-
Mida multi tool and my hygeia noblesse with full auto explosive rounds and third eye
-
I can tell you'd make a solid smoking partner.
-
Any sniper with fast equip fast ads and the highest of impacts. It just feels right to deal out deaths swiftly and with precision. P.S don't be a high aim assist scrub
-
Red Death. It is an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Just has a great weapon flow with a really good effect in the current meta.
-
Quick/Drag Scoping with Shadow of Veils Or getting the reactive reload damage boost (on my conduit) and wrecking people

6 RepliesThe MIDA and the Vestian. THEY FEEL SO GOOD

1 ReplyFatebringer. Hand cannons are my preferred weapon type. Hawkmoon is nice but seems a tad erratic feeling. Fatebringer seems more fluid for me and lands me more head shots then a any other hand cannon/weapon.

Red Death is the Timurs of pulse rifles. Great sound. Get a messenger, hopscotch, or evergreen if you like the heavy hitters.
-
The 'feel' are hidden stats. Aim Assist Recoil Direction Equip Speed Zoom
-
If you don't like how a particular weapon feels, play around with archetypes and perks until you find one that suits you. For archetypes, I like the high RoF shotguns as a general rule.
-
Hand canons I've loved since day one how they handle and how they sound. Just kinda wish they all were more than just reskins. . But other than that suros
-
Scouts like fang or vision. The right mix of fire rate, impact and stability. New scouts are too fast/slow.

Destiny has been the first FPS I've ever really gotten used to. I was never big into CoD or Halo so, understandably, i'm really terrible at aiming. I just can't get good with sniping at all no matter what the aim assist. As a result I tend to favor weapons with a really short TTK, or ones that just push the most bullets out as soon as possible. Auto rifles were my favorite before the nerf but now I find myself favoring pulse rifles or full auto scouts. Bad Juju has been great for my Warlock but for most PvE encounters I find myself using Vision of Confluence.
-
The vision of confluence. I could go without its automatic fire. I just love how stable it is. I shoot and the next shot will shoot in exactly the same spot.

This is true! My hawkmoon feels very spastic and hard to control due to the recoil animation. Because of this i only use it in high level heroics and IB. But i love love love the Suros regime. Sights are cool, the gun is slick, the RoF is beautiful but it's just not statistically supported so i don't use it as much in high stakes situations. But it was my first exotic so that might have some tie to it. And i always do work with the red death but i really don't like how it feels. It's just not appealing.
