On July 30th, 2015 11:16pm. My friend (A Kinky Wolf) and I were playing Iron Banner. We then received an error code "Weasel." We were sent back to the main menu of Destiny, once we logged back in we discovered that we were banned from the Crucible. Where was the explanation to this ban? I truly believe this was an unjust ban because we can honestly say that we do not cheat. Picture this scenario... If we are losing a match in Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, Skirmish, whatever it may be. We will not back out of the match under any circumstance because it must be acknowledged so we try to do better next time even if we fail again. I have had Destiny ever since week two of its release, I don't want to miss out on Iron Banner this weekend, I don't want to miss out on the Destiny community. Please reply with honest comments/ feedback. Really need help in this situation.

Congrats. /golf clap

Bungie has been banning a lot of innocent play recently
-
My restriction has been lifted!!!!! Time to go back and kickass in the crucible. My restriction was for a week just in case anybody wanted to know.
-
Whether or not you deserved or if it's fair is irrelevant now. You got caught up in the net and like anything else, "you cannot make an omelette without breaking some eggs". Consider yourself a martyr, sorry.
-
What's funny is that I am temporarily restricted from going into Crucible matches. Still...it is a ban because, like any other gamer who received this, would still have to wait till it is lifted. Now that I think about it, I may have been banned for having crappy connection. Still, having a bad connection should not mean you get restricted. Those who are guilty by association is not fair as well, you never know who really are the cheaters and who aren't. I will stand to prove my point (check my games). Thank you for all those who helped, I guess I will just have to wait till it is lifted. All those who chose to sit behind a screen and laugh at me and others... -chuckles-

Banned or restricted? Bans are permanent, so that would be awesome
-
Are u using mouse/key board?
-
People who manipulate the game by lagswitcher get permanent bans and if you have play with someone doing this you can get a week long ban

Edited by ccSPiTFiRΞ: 8/1/2015 6:03:45 AMHere's my story: 1.) Got booted to orbit with Weasel & a zoo of other animals...NOT banned! 2.) Left a match in IB since I was 1 vs. 5 players...NOT banned! 3.) Occasionally had red bar connection...NOT banned! ...Bungie won't just ban you without reason "Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason." https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929

Bans are permanent. Account blocks are temporary. If u received a ban message then looks like you will never play pvp again

Edited by Jake cant shoot: 8/2/2015 3:54:51 PMSay you are in a group with a player that is cheating. How does bungie know you were aware of the person or not? It's a temp ban for a reason. If they were certain you would be perma banned.

How can we even assume Goth is correct? He doesn't work for Bungie and couldn't have any official knowledge of how the restrictions and ban are applied. It's pretty clear he didn't even read the Weekly update or he would have know about Bungie's Security Response Team. Goth just like to run his mouth and jump to conclusions. That's fine, but it's not like Goth is the voice of reason. He's a gamer, and a great on screen personality. I don't believe he does hours of fact checking before he posts an opinion on the banning situation.
Full disclosure: I sub to Goth and enjoy what he does. Please don't be offended that my opinion may be different than yours.
No...

No suck it up cheater

Hello, Bungie will not discuss your temporary restriction. You'll have to wait until the restriction is lifted. If your notification says you are banned, then you are banned from the Crucible forever. This can not be disputed or argued against. You can review their article on this subject here: Destiny Restriction/Ban Policies

Edited by Unforgiven: 8/2/2015 11:45:04 AMI have to admit, I actually believe you for a second. Then I thought about it. People lie. This is a fact. I don't believe a single word in this post. Sorry cheater. Enjoy your ban. Maybe this time you will learn a lesson.

What if you discover that Gothalion was banned? Ms5000Watts? TripleWRECK? Maybe not even them but a close friend of yours. Would you just sit back behind the screen laughing or would you honestly help? I have read the page for banned players. You will be banned if you are found "Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following: Modified game software Modified game assets Modified console hardware Modified console firmware Using an external program to modify the operation of the Destiny game software (trainer or mod) Using an external program or device to automate gameplay or circumvent idle detection Modification or interruption of Destiny network traffic with intent to disrupt other players’ experiences or to gain advantage in the game Intentionally deriving gameplay benefit from another user’s behavior in the above categories Unauthorized access to Destiny software or downloadable content (game piracy) Impersonating a Bungie, Microsoft, Sony, or Activision employee." None of this applies to my account. Again I must ask...Where is the explanation? In this situation, I am not speaking just for myself, I am standing up for my fellow friends and everyone else who has been unjustly banned. I acknowledge that some people have cheated on Destiny but I am not one of them. Regardless, we have all paid for the game and membership in order to play Destiny and all the other games we may have. Why should anyone get banned if they continuously pay for their right to play? Those who cheat, yes, they should have some sort of punishment, but there needs to be a better system in place for that.
-
Maybe they should. The amount if people cheating is so out of control, banning legit players would be way more feasible...and economically sound.
-
You all think this is a joke but truly it is a topic for help. "Cheaters are the ballsiest liars." In some cases that may be true but what about when you are truly being sincere and trying to look for help? You believe I cheated just because I decided to take my time and post. Well, guess what... like I have stated before. I do not have the knowledge to DDOS, I do not own a "lag switch." I do not do anything to cheat.
-
Yes I just signed on and I was also banned. I also was not cheating. I played with a lfg group so in my case it could have been one of them. But I'm a legitimate player who has ranked up in Iron banner a couple times now. There's no reason to cheat yet I'm banned and missing out on iron banner gear. We need to be heard and find more people. Bungie at least needs to know they messed up
-
Oprah on point
-
Good riddance to all of you cheaters.
-
Same thing just happened to me too. Im an honest player and this really upsets me. I cant believe people are just resorting to reporting with no proof now... Great to be banned on my one week off work. Thanks a lot bungie. Way to make me reconsider taken king
-
There was no bans or restrictions issued without reason
-
Ive been banned too and didn't do anything. Bungie coming in clutch with banning without proof. I know some kids reported me because we ruined their flawless run in trials (mind the rest of the group I was with did not get banned). Pretty pissed about this one.
