I am a PvE player who is trying to improve at PvP, after getting attacked by a few players on the forum earlier today, I kind of felt a little down and thought why bother.
I then reviewed my past games and thought well yeah I definitely die more than I kill, but my assists are right up there and I am constantly trying to capture points and cover team mates whilst they pick up heavy.
When I added the assists to kills I was always positive.
So is K/D truly reflective of ability in the crucible? Can it not be manipulated by tactics like camping with snipers or backing out when things don't go your way?
I want to love PvP and the community but damn there are some rude elitists out there.
Edit: thanks all, I actually had decided to hide my stats because of the attitude I got, I'm going to keep at it and just have fun and unhide my stats, screw the haters, I'll just mute them, I know now that there are some really bloody good PvP players out there now that don't judge you by K/D and really give PvP a good name, thanks guys, hope I get good enough to one day shut down your spree
Final Edit: thanks for all the advice, I have already started putting a lot of it practice, I am definitely a better competitor with my Titan, I am trying to relax a little more and not panic when bladedancers come at me or blinking party crashers, thank you for the advice to run forward rather than back when they blink, it has saved me at least twice so far, I am crouching more, not rushing as much and staying close to my team, I am using the guns I enjoy and have even ascended my favourite NL Shadow, I am having fun.
The PvP community gets an undeserved rep I feel, the vast majority of you are supportive, helpful, definitely not elitist and just generally bloody awesome! :D
Thanks Guardians.
