So other than the obvious of having to level both subclasses back up and do the expansion quests to open certain things up, what are the consequences of re starting a character? Will it effect crucible grimoire at all? Also how long is it taking people these days to go 1-20? I can't stand the way my warlock looks. I made it a female, and I definitely want to make it a male character instead.
Thanks.

You will lose all your moments of triumph on that character so make sure you have the moments covered on your other two characters (if you have them). Your faction ranks will all reset. All the past of your deleted character is gone forever, # of raids they have done ect ect. Stats ect. (does not effect whats contributed to grimoire) It will not effect your grimoire. Lots of people do this to clean up there pvp stats once they get better.

maybe a bit late... you'll all pvp medals archieved with that character.... I deleted my warlock and made a new one, a few days ago I saw that I was missing a "sum of all tears" and that I only had 79 "Alone at the top", but I also have 100 rumble wins...

Something to consider. How full is your vault? How full are you characters? I won't restart because I would have to delete soooooooo much gear and weapons.

Yea the females should be left in the kitchen not saving the world. U know better bro.

I would just wait for The Taken King to start a new character. I think they're changing a lot of the game and you might find the time wasted if they have better ways to level up 1-20. No one knows what is going to be relevant in The Taken King either. The entire leveling system is going to be different. Also, you might want to experience the entire game from start when The Taken King comes. Since there is really no need to have 2 hunters, I might end up creating 2 other characters. However, there might not be a need for more than 1 character since shards and all that ish don't matter.

Takes about 2 days to get to 20. Save all of your gear and you'll be back to 34 instantly. It won't hurt your grimoire. I recently made a Warlock and it took me about 2 weeks to gather up the reputation and Marks to buy the armor I wanted and get my Warlock with 100% discipline and strength like I wanted. I also just made a Titan, but that one is taking a little longer since I'm playing on my Warlock more. I haven't been on my Hunter in a few weeks now.

Lose any items you can't shove into the vault and lose all reputation for that character.

Also lose faction vanguard and crucible rep

I've restarted all 3 of my characters over the past 10 months, and the only problem is that it deletes all your previous playing hours on the character, including PVP and PVE scores. I generally took like 20 hours of playing to get to Lvl 20, although most of those hours are grinding through crucible and vanguard bounties. ps. It definitely is pretty fun going back through all main story missions on "Very Hard" :)
