Attn bungie. Fusion rifles buff

In the new 2.0 Weapon balance you're nerfing the fusion rifle bullet travel speed. If you notice almost no one uses them in PvP because their effectiveness is inconsistent. In stellar connection games fusion rifles are fine. Once you get to any less than stellar connections you can place shots right on the body and you're suddenly wondering where you're kill is. So your stuck in a scenario too far to melee, charging again takes too long and switching and shooting takes about just as long. A grenade is a good choice but you don't always have a grenade ready. You retreat and hope they are stupid enough to run around the corner after you stripped their shields away. But most of us aren't that stupid. It seems that the laggier the match the more you have to lead people. If you run into a full agility hunter, forget it you're dead or you trade. Making the bullets fly slower your going to have a worse time using fusion rifles than the vestian dynasty. In my opinion the projectiles need to fly faster so at medium range you all bullets hit if you're aiming right at the body or tighten up the rate at which the projectiles fly after each other out of the gun. The last idea is the least favorite of my ideas but I feel like if the spread for the gun was exactly the same every single time. It would help performance. For example if I shoot a wall, walk over a few feet and shoot again. The pattern would be exactly identical. Most importantly buff the projectile speed if I sneak up on some one and have all the time in the world to choose my way to kill him. I shouldn't have any derpy moments of missing some of the projectiles because he's straffing in place to line up a shot.

  • I agree, I can't tell you how many times from my perspective I'll hit every shot on a person and almost kill them just to get a out full of lead. Then there are some games where I get kills as I should. This inconsistency is just not there with any other gun and it's just not fair.

  • Bungie 's best fusion rifle is called the Lord of wolves... And it's a shotgun.

    • Yeah, I've noticed this lately. I can hit someone nearly point blank in the chest with the entire burst and they don't even lose shields, but the next time I fire it I might miss slightly and still get the kill. It doesn't (seem to) affect all of my Fusion Rifles, though, so this makes me think it's a combination of hit registration and the Impact rating on the things. Fusion Rifles as they stand have gone from being easy kills to mostly counterproductive. At the very least, they need to be guaranteed a kill if you hit someone with the entire shot array, otherwise there's no point to them.

      • Agreed. Was running the Queen's bounties this morning, and was doing the Archon slayer "quest" on the Moon. There are two major Hive Knights right outside of the Arena where you start. Both of them can easily be taken out with a couple of close range shotgun blasts. Well I hit them both with the PoEs fusion rifle----with its nearly maxed out impact. The first one took a firebolt grenade and TWO FR blasts before it went down. The second...took FOUR blasts before it finally went down. From a distance that would have easily been within current Felwinter's range. Without a MAJOR buff to FRs, they will continue to be useless in end-game PvE play. Because if one of the best FRs in the game has that much trouble against a tier 2, level 28 enemy. What idiot is going to try to rely on it against enemies that are max level??
