We changed up Trials of Osiris this weekend and rather than playing on one map for the duration of the event you saw a random cycle of the six previous ToO maps. In the Bungie Weekly Update we asked for your feedback on this so I wanted to collect your opinions here. Did you like this experiment with a random rotation or prefer mastering one map at a time? Let us know in the comments below.

Thanks for asking. My thoughts: - I did not enjoy the map rotation, but I think that it was a worthy experiment. - As a above average but not great PvP player, I felt the map rotation was another obstacle in my journey to the lighthouse. It seems more difficult to get to 5 wins, let alone go flawless with the map rotation in place. - It might an interesting option to throw in for players who have already gone flawless for the week. It could give them incentive to keep playing while not keeping them in the same hopper with teams still on their first attempt.

Edited by iago: 7/28/2015 8:11:03 PMPlease keep fixed maps with rotating spawns. And fix the lags or at least keep the laggers to themselves...

Hated it. I like the aspect of being able to strategize and beat other teams based on my own abilities and my teams abilities to use a map against the opposition. Too much random luck and happenstance of people conveniently being in the right place at the right time with the variation of maps. It feels too much like the "chaos" of playlist crucible, therefore taking away the grueling anticipation and intense grind of trials.

Not a huge fan. As Derek Carroll stated, rotating maps changes too many factors and you cannot prepare yourself for each game before hand.
-
No. I thought it was a cool way to mix it up but I DEFINITELY don't think that that is how Trials should be all the time. Once a month i think would be alright but DEFINITELY not a normal thing.
-
I wouldn't mind having rotation every week, but more diluted. Like: Day One of Trials: Map 1. Day Two of Trials: Map 2. Day Three of Trials: Map 3 ect...
-
I thought I was going to really like this, but I was really disappointed. One map per week is my vote.
-
Personally, I think one map per weekend was perfect. I feel it only makes the Trials experience more consistent overall. The rotation was fine, but added some uncertainty to the experience as a whole, which Trials needs as little of as possible.
-
Stick with a single weekly map, but spawn rotations every odd round
-
One map per week creates a far more competitive environment in that to do well on your card everyone plays the same map. There is no chance that you get maps that cater more towards your strengths based on the random rotation. Do no try to make trials more accessible to a broader range for players when you made it clear that it is the endgame for the best crucible players
-
One map at a time please, I like knowing that I don't know what map we play next week trials
-
General consensus seems to be: Rotating maps: No/Not often Rotating spawns: Yes. BOOM. Constructive, civil feedback.
-
Didnt like it myself... i treat trials as a weekend to learn maps and map flow for gametypes other than trials also. I couldnt "focus" and it felt too much like the random rotation of regular crucible
-
I liked just the one map.
-
I think you guys should keep the one map per week. That way teams can have a set strat per that map. It was a little difficult with the rotation. Maybe have the teams switch sides though per two rounds.
-
One map only pls
-
1 map each week
-
I enjoyed the variety, but I do like having to "master" a map per week. It is nice to mix it up once a month or so.
-
I really did NOT like it. I couldn't get a good rythem and feel for each map. I like having one map that every one gets to know and really make it a game of chess. Changing it every game just made it harder . Having the same map over and over make it harder in a different way that I enjoy more.

I don't really like it. I'm used to one map and knowing that map for the wins.
-
I'd rather swap spawns on a single map than the rotating maps. Playing one map all weekend forces people to get familiar with it and in the long run, I think it will help people become better pvpers
-
How about putting ALLLLLL the maps in rotation instead of the dlc garbage maps that have been rotating. I see no reason why I can play skirmish on every map in the game but we can't play trials on popular maps like shores of time, twilight gap or anomaly. Amazing how you guys managed to make trials repetetive already. Doubt this will happen being that you bastards didnt think of it first but adding alll the maps would quite possibly make it just a tad more bearable instead of the garbage it already is along with rewards that do not match the effort put forth to going unbroken.
-
I'd much rather spawn rotation than map rotation to be completely honest. Sometimes you can't help but feel the other side has a terrain advantage.
-
I do like it. But i feel sticking with one map each weekend better suits the game mode.

Edited by War Numen: 7/28/2015 3:36:16 AMI do trials with the same team each week but we only started playing it the last time the map was Black Shield. This meant we were going in kinda blind on pantheon and thieve's den. At first this made me hate the rotation as I felt a little bit disadvantaged compared to more experienced teams on those maps but I quickly got over it. I think I prefer playing on the same map, it just feels more balanced. I was able to go 9-0 with all three of my characters without much difficulty although I did find it a little tougher than usual. EDIT: call me lazy, but having to switch my load-out for each map got kind of annoying. Knowing what map you were going to be playing on at the same time as you could see your opponents on the roster would solve this.

I would prefer a smaller rotation of maps, say 3. That way there could still be some consistency when it comes to strategic approach.
