•
Posted by: BurnettS94 My friend wanted me to make a thread saying Sgt. J. Forge from Halo Wars may be Master Chief. What are your thoughts?
lets break it down for you on why he is not john 117. john 117 is in oni special intelligence which is a branch of the navy. John Forge is either in the army or the Marine's. if you have read the books fall of reach, the flood, and first strike you would know this. Plus Master Chief is a navy rank no other branch has that that rank in non-commissioned officers. one last thing on rank the navy does not have the rank of sergeant. i know the halo ranks are not the same as the us but they are close. to support that john forge is in the marine's is if you read contact harvest sgt johnson is a marine. none of the spartan's have the rank of sergeant. the only other spartan that has a higher rank than john 117 is kurt from gost of onyx he is a Lieutenant. let me add one more thing in the books it say's there is powered armor similar to the spartan armor. •
Posted by: Byronic hero
Posted by: BurnettS94 Have you seen the Halo 3 ending the other dudes think MC's dead because its got 117 on the ship wing grave thing but hes still alive.
What are you even saying? What does the memorial having 117 on it have to do with the Halo Wars guy at all?
Because his saying that just because theres a empty coffin thing with John's name on it means his dead. •
Posted by: Blueboy2323 A bit off topic, but I was told Master Chief's real name was Bruce Just what I heard ~Blueboy =-)
Which is of course why at the end of Halo 3 Cortana says, "It's been an honour serving with you John." As for the OP it would be impossible, Burnett your friend needs to read the books, I've read all of them multiple times and seeing as the spartans were kidnapped at the age of 6 in 2517 and Sgt. Forge is 29 at 2531 during Halo Wars it's not possible. Then there's the fact that the Spartans were agmented at the age of 14, Forge would be short in comparison. Finally ask your friend how this would work out: If Forge was Spartan 117 what are another team of Spartans doing onboard the Spirit of Fire? Surely he would have armour and augmentations too?

 •
Posted by: Wolfrog Forge is Master Chief, of course! "J" stands for "John"! This is what happened : Sometime after the end of Halo 3, Master Chief went back in time to help out the UNSC before the events of the first Halo game. He snuck back into the UNSC as a sergeant, but what no one knew was that he was really a Spartan without armor on!
You have got to be kidding us. A two year old knows that didn't happen.

 • Not possible as John has been part of the Spartan program since the age of 6.

 • The Master Chief had been in Spartan training since long before 2525, he is most definitely not Sergeant John Forge. Forge doesn't have power armor, he was sent to Harvest as a ground troop (as far as we know, Chief was not) and the Master Chief was never a Sergeant. Good thinking, but it's not possible.

 • That would make Masterchief around 55 in the Halo trilogy, which he isn't. Good idea though lol.

 • Like I said already, the big MC went back in time after the end of Halo 3, took off his armor, and became "Sergeant J. Forge". Yes?

 • No. John and the other Spartan II are roughly around the age of 19-21 at the time, Forge is easily 30+. Also, due to their augmentations and training they are significantly larger than the average human. Lastly, Forge is a Sergent in the Marines, Spartans used Navy Ranks, hence, Master Chief Petty Officer, which is the equivalent of a Marine Serger\nt Major like Johnson.

 • Impossible. Sgt. Forge is not genetically modified in anyway. Master Chief was not even included around that time period. [Edited on 03.06.2009 1:14 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: Videoboy117
Posted by: SweetTRIX if i'm following the time line correctly, john, spartan 117, who later becomes the MC would be a child in training at the spartan program during halo wars would he not?
No, he became a Sparten in 2525 if any of you idiots have read the books or know anything about Halo.
actually i've read all of them, and am quite the fan. i'm just not all too familiar with the dates of the halo wars title. however the circumstances of the game (existing spartan II's) would render it impossible. keep your insulting generaliations to yourself.

 • He served along side of Spartan II's, so he couldn't be one. The Spartan II's that we see in Halo Wars are contemporaries and "family" to Sierra 117.
