Remove the laser from snipers

i know that the laser is there to make snipers easier to spot but the enemy's should not be able to see me before i shoot. snipers are supposed to be stealthy but with a giant red laser (that's not even visible to me) sticking out of my gun for no reason i cant be stealthy. Inadvisability is completely use less with it so patience and time (one of my favorites) is useless. My idea is to have the laser for 5 to 10 seconds after you shoot then it goes away. i fell that this would make snipers more fun to use there for less shotguns to deal with.

  • I agree, with the fact that we shouldn't have a laser on it to give away your position. If they put it there to make it balance then it just seems to be like a useless effort. If they do ever take it away than there is only one thing they need to do to make sure that it's not to over strong that everyone will use it and snipe from a distance, and that is to just increase its fire rate. If they just increase it so that you can pull off killing two or three guardians before that get wiser. Add this with the fact that each map has very few places were sniping spots are good and when you take fire you flinch a lot and have a hard time aiming it will be pretty balanced.

Most pvp maps simply aren't large enough for the advantages of a sniper rifle to sufficiently surpass scout/pulse/exotic hand cannons in the current meta. Hell, the long range scope options are mostly useless in pve as well. You're just never shooting at anything at the sort of range they're made for. The giant road flare warning light is just insult to injury. ;p

    • Sniper rifles have all sorts of advantages over other weapons in the Crucible. Range for one thing, and being able to kill someone with two body shots is amazing. I think it's fair to have an indicator when someone is pointing it at your direction. Just because you can see a sniper doesn't mean you can reach him before he kills you.

Lol, then it would be EXACTLY like CoD sniping. I say keep the red laser(except NLB needs its laser removed), I normally use my primary to spot people and then pull out my sniper so that I still have the advantage.

      • +1. Sniping is tough enough when other players are wielding formidable Scouts and Pulses.

      • I agree. Even with the buff it'll be receiving, which is mainly focused towards PvE, the No Land Beyond is a World War II-themed long rifle with iron sights. It will still be hard enough to use in PvP, it doesn't deserve a laser-light that would be more advanced than the gun itself. There is no possible explanation for why the red glare appears on the Sniper Rifle at all. Just, why?

Who puts visual lasers on long range combat gear? -yes sir! I will send that visible laser beam down range and alert the target of my presence. Right away. Patience and time does work- but only for non guardians. As you will notice when invisible foes don't run for cover.
