Too many people on this forum are calling Bungie and Activision greedy capitalists and are much too alarmed about TKKs price tag.
This game provides many hours of entertainment. (If you don't enjoy the game, it doesn't...move on) This is a valuable service. If you don't believe me, try getting thousands of hours of entertainment through any other medium and see what it costs you... Even watching cable television is more expensive. My point is that people are considering business as usual as greed, when it's just common capitalism. If you want an ever changing game, it should cost money.
Not to mention it's the most replayable game I've ever encountered. I've liked other games more, but they got old faster. Any other game you'd spend your 60 bucks and be done with the game in a months time, and already spending your next 60 bucks on the next game. I wish it had a more engaging story, but games with better stories are usually more linear and are beaten in a day. I'm not saying it's a perfect game, but if you like it and play it a lot, I don't see why you can't pay for dlcs.
Did you expect constant development for free?

Edited by dova spook: 7/26/2015 11:04:30 AMSkyrim is replayable, it has much more entertainment for $60 than Destinys' $100. Why not have free development? Folks who bought The Witcher 3 get 16 free dlc's, Halo 5 is giving free dlc maps, if you bought Journey on PS3, you get a free upgrade to PS4. I see no reason why Bungie can't show the same generosity from time to time.

They are greedy. lol

A spade is a spade...

15 RepliesJust so you know, Destiny is the least valuable RPG right know. There is reason why people are saying Bungie creedy.

1 ReplyDude those thousands of hours of "entertainment" are grinding.
-
Huge bump. I didn't realize intelligence existed on the forums anymore! Congrats!

5 RepliesYou can masturbate for free, and the pay off is far more satisfying. You can literally play any game for thousands of hours if you wanted to. Destiny is no different because the amount of unique content could be blown through in a few days at most. After that it's just repetition, repetition, repetition. The argument that their ridiculous pricing is justified because you can squeeze a lot of time out of very little is flawed. The only reason people are still on this game is because of the RNG system, so people are always chasing some elusive item. If that wasn't there, and you were actually rewarded properly, this game would've dropped much sooner. They are being greedy because they're charging far more that what the content is worth, and even more for non-US customers.

1 ReplyEntitlement generation they all just want to get something for nothing. Like its owed to them. I am beside you 100% with your post. If you don't like it don't play it.
-
What is it to you?
-
Thank you for your post you are 100% right. There is no pay2win, no monthly costs. Bungie is doing well with it. The haters can only be kids without any idea of life.

Don't tell people what to do.

1 ReplyGreedy is probably a bit harsh. "Ignorant" is more appropriate
-
It doesn't take a month to beat a game. It's kinda impossible.
-
Did Bungie send you to the forum? You sound like you work for them.

1 ReplyIf you're a day one player Destiny costs you: £55 -Vanilla game £20 - Dark Below £20 - House of Wolves £40 - The Taken King -------------------------- £135 all in Now let's look at the competition £50 - Witcher 3 £50 - Elder Scrolls Online £42 - Borderlands: The Handsome Edition £55 - GTA V (and all its FREE dlc) £50 - COD: AW £135 is a lot of money for a game with four planets with four areas each which you backtrack through. And let's not even start with the TTK pricing debacle.

1 ReplyThose thousands of hours are hours that players have to play. There is no entertainment if you're forced to playing something. All Bungie does is make bosses that literally absorb bullets and nerf weapons so players have to spend that much hours to beat that boss. And not to forget the RNG system (I'm not against it, just saying its a contributing factor to those hours) how many times players have grinder out just to get that one piece of gum or armour? And most of the people just sit in the corner waiting for their supers and heavy ammo synth to reset. So those "thousands of hours" that people spend are forced hours and not entertainment hours.

Look at the game BL2 or BL and compare it to Destiny:

What about the cut content out of the game that was sold back to us
-
Oh and how do their nuts taste?
-
1 ReplyOPs tongue is so deep in bungies ass he can taste their lunch
-
Thousands of hours of 'Entertainment?' you mean, thousands of hours Grinding for meaningless loot, that will be made obsolete in TTK. Probably.
-
9 RepliesSo the base game and all 3 dlcs for 79.99 for new players is fair compared to our 140 dollar investment if we buy TTK? Noooo that's not greedy at all...... Punish the day one players but give the brand new players the discount, how does that seem okay to you? They are getting everything that we paid 100+ dollars for 39.99 HA!
-
Let it out baby

Bungie you have slapped all your loyal fans in the face by giving away 40 quid of dlc for free for all those who waited you can now get destiny and all the dlc for 80 quid instead of 140 Pounds I spent so far in () the game cost us 59.99 (37.99 if you preoreded off amazon) the dlc 39.99 (34.99 if you bought from game) tkk yet another 40 pounds but new people can get everything we have for 80 quid it is not on I'll tell you no emblem or shader will make up for 40 quid they get free and trying to say here your fans for your loyalty here's a new shader and emblem for being a year one fan I will get on a plane fly to bungie studios and give you a letter of complaint hopefully you burn in hell for ripping off all your loyal fans. I'm not angry about the price it's the fact that new players can get everything we pay 140 pounds for, for only 80 pounds is a rip off where's our 40 pound worth of free stuff. Don't say that was the fight against the blades and the queens bounty missions cuase that was not worth 40 quid.
