I would stay but I would also expect that there are enough new weapons to replace every single Year 1 weapon they made. If all my guns became useless and they only added 10 new weapons to the game that would just be ridiculous. I actually really doubt they will release that many new guns at once. With that being said, I'm pretty sure our guns will be upgradable. Just don't expect it to be easy. It's gonna be some crazy shit to get whatever upgraded material you need to do it. Plus they wouldn't bother changing the stats on all of our guns if they were just gonna be garbage in September anyways.
