The Khvostov Exotic Weapon
When I first heard about how you need to get the Necrochasm, (i.e. Getting the Husk of the Pit, turning it into the Eideon Alley, getting the Crux of Crota and finally making the Nechrocasm) I thought Bungie had this ingenuous idea of a non-bounty based Exotic weapon "Quest" I had this idea for another one.
The Khvostov 7G-02 is the very first weapon you get in the game, it's description reads "An ancient weapon, battered and worn - but it still fires true. Perhaps it's been waiting for you." That last sentence, "Perhaps it's been waiting for you" strikes an idea, "what if it has been doing just that?"
I believe there should be a non-bounty "Quest" similar to that of the Nechrocasm. Perhaps this quest requires you keeping your Khvostov until you reach level 20, then the next time your Khvostov is equipped, it becomes a legendary weapon. From there you must take it with you through 3 hard-mode raids after fully leveling it up.
After doing so, the Speaker will give you an "Ultimate Mote of Light" that when used with your Legendary version of the khvostov, will turn it into the "Ultimate Weapon of the Guardians."

EDIT: I've heard that Bungie originally intended to have this in the game but scrapped the idea

I like idea but don't see it happening now lore wise you can come up with ideas like my guardian actually used it before they died during some time before revival(prob 50-100 years) and dropped it there before making it outside and lying against the car looking up at the sky one last time.

3 RepliesGood idea but it probably won't happen because so far it seems like bungie wants everyone to have the same chance of getting something in the game I don't feel like they would alienate the portion of the player base that scrapped the weapon

Something like this would be cool. They should also do something like this for the stranger's pulse rifle.

The waiting for you part leaves me to believe it should turn into a weapon of your choice with the exotic perk obviously being something that would make sense despite weapon type

1 Replyit was already supposed to be an exotic until they scrapped it from the game. it was supposed to be your first exotic as you were to be able to get parts for it through the story
