I would definitely stay, the game needs to evolve and I agree completely with all year 1 weapons being axed with the times. You need to learn to leave behind your old weapons and gear at some point guardians.

I agree with this whole heartedly except that I think exotics should always be upgradeable to stay relevant at least until the next title game (destiny 2 next year).

The reason I say even exotics is due to the fact that if people always rely on certain exotics -cough- gally, things like exclusivity will begin all over again. Yes I do own a gally two in fact, but it's because of this that I know why it would be bad if people could keep using the same gear over and over to deal with every issue we face as guardians. We need a new arsenal guardians we need to evolve our way of dealing with the darkness. We can't stay stuck in the past or lest we join our fellow guardians in the golden age? We all know how that went for them ne?

Haha when you put it that way, I completely agree with you. The reason I personally wanted exotics to stay relevant is that I enjoy intermixed new and old pieces of exotic armor and weapons as I have done with each dlc. Though as you said, not everyone does this so it would make sense to not ascend even exotics. We shall see I suppose.
