On 4 July, a group of fighters from Isis came to my home. My father answered the door and apparently they said to him: "Your son is an infidel and a homosexual and we have come to carry out God's punishment on him."
My dad is a religious man and luckily for me he was able to tell them to come back the next day, to give him time to find out whether the accusation was correct. He came inside the house and started screaming. Finally, he said: "If these accusations are true, I will hand you over to them myself, happily." And I just stood there, not knowing what to do and what to say, or how to defend myself.
when can we stop pretending religion isn't a problem in our world?

2 RepliesHave you ever seen the South Park episode where Cartman freezes himself so he doesn't have to wait 2 weeks to get the Nintendo Wii? He ends up being frozen for 500 years and when he is unfrozen, he is in a future where religion doesn't exist. The whole premise of the episodes are there are multiple atheist groups that have a different explanation for life & they were all at war with each other. The absence of religion made no difference. I know it's just a South Park episode, but I honestly think it's an accurate representation of what would happen.
