So the new pulse rifles will have a 4 round burst but adjusted to deal the same damage as a 3 round burst. Am I missing something or is there literally no reason to have a 4 round burst if it's dealing the same damage? Seems like a waste of time. Might as well have just made a regular three round bust pulse rifle with a higher rate of fire as that's pretty much what these new PRs are.

3 RepliesEdited by Afawafa: 7/24/2015 1:38:53 PM33% more flinch per burst, bursts take 33% longer to complete while time between start of each burst remains constant. You're throwing up a more constant wall of lead which is great for staggering enemies.

Like everybody else more forgiving if you miss a shot it dose almost the same amount as three so your next shot should kill them.

2 RepliesMore forgiving for players of less skill.

Only the Häkke pulse rifles will be four round burst. I think Bungie is picking up on what the developers did for Borderlands 2 regarding the weapon manufacturers. For example, in Borderlands you have Vladof, which focuses on extremely high rate of fire weapons that are piss poor in accuracy but also have high capacity magazines. And then you have Jakobs, a manufacturer that values raw power over everything else, and have slow fire rates with a small magazine. Back to Destiny. Häkke will focus on weapons that are good all rounders, whereas SUROS will focus on weapons that can become highly specialized in one or two areas to fit your play style better. It seems that Omelon will specialize in weapons that are very stable and have great handling. Of course, each manufacture will have staple properties for some of their weapons, with Häkke's being 4 round burst pulse rifles. I love where Bungie is going with the weapon aspect of Destiny.

If you miss one bullet, you will do 75% of the full damage instead of 66%

3 RepliesIf you miss with the shots then it will deal less damage than a full burst tho. So stability and accuracy will be more important cod they won't change rate of fire

3 RepliesSo, here's what I've kept seeing people saying about Hakke's new pulse rifles; that they do the same DPS as a standard 3-burst rifle. And yes, you are all completely correct. But you don't seem to understand why Bungie designed this new style of Pulse Rifle; it has a higher fire rate, which actually allows for a slightly higher DPS. However, the higher fire rate contradicts itself, because it loses its accuracy as the fire rate increases, leading to less shots hitting, thus again equaling both DPS's. Unless, because there is ALWAYS an unless, the rifle is put in a highly accurate hand. The rifle was designed to be used by accurate players, as a new weapon that actually grants them the ability to prove their prowess, using a weapon that would seem almost unneeded in a lesser hand. The way I see it, all of Hakke's new weapons seem to be catered towards accurate and tactical players, while Omolon seems to be staying true to Destiny's standard weapon system, rewarding more average players with more average weapons. Suros, on the other hand, I hate to say it, seems to just be a fashionable choice, with very average weapons. I personally will immediately be getting my hands on some Hakke weapons, as I am very excited to see how they play, and to also see if my hypothesis is actually correct. TL;DR: Hakke weapons are catered to more skilled players, while Omolon follows Destiny's generic weapon system. Suros is just a pretty face This is something I posted in another thread. It's also relevant here.

I just noticed a perk on one of VOG pulse and it says missing 1/3 shorts gives you a fourth. I would assume they broke them into a 4 shot to make successive landing of critical shots more difficult/ultimately less powerful if used out of control/without stability. I could see why from Hop Skotch and Bad Juju you can have some range and still rail off shots and with little recoil.

I personally want a two round burst scout rifle or side arm.

It will be something different

They were probably trying to come up with a way to make some weapons unique and came up with that.
-
Perhaps the gun has too much ammo in the clip and they needed a way of getting rid of it in the same amount of time as a standard 3 burth pulse rifle.

1 ReplyMaybe the 4 round burst pulse rifles have max rate of fire.
