This is not a Bungie hating post. I do like Bungie and I like the game overall even though it has had its ups and downs. I am sorry guys. But is it me or do those weapons look a bit Generic. I can understand having similar designs for each Arms company. But did they mention any interesting perks that would make the weapons worth having? I read the entire post. Did I miss something or was the entire thing just a bit generic? I mean every time Deej posts something, I'm so hyped, and then when I am done reading the post, I feel like I have been let down.
Destiny 1.0 brought some heavy hitters like Hawkmoon, Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, Gjally, Red Death, TLW, Vex Mythoclast. These weapons don't even stand out like anything special. I am just wondering how they can top those weapons. This update so far has not made me excited. I am not excited yet Bungie. I know what people are going to say. Get a life. Go out for a walk. Or call me names and make me cry :*) but. But but. Really you are all getting what I am saying here, even if you don't know it yet :). Snifff..
Also the hand Cannon didn't have a clear Sights? How does one use a weapon without sights? That is a rhetorical question.
I think the Vex weapons had a nice unique look. And so did Dark Below and House of Wolves. These new weapons look too futuristic, and don't have any personality... Also what are the perks? Shank BURN?
Each time we wait for an update, and we get one, its disappointments.

If you look at art for it, you would see that most of them have holographic sights.
-
Starting off with a very disappointing look at weapons, very generic. I expect more , stats and perks and a little talk about are old weapons and how about the uproar over the 2.0 update. Thanks for not listening!

It's gonna be like the different weapon manufacturers in borderlands, except with less manufacturers to choose from.

Edited by Allenes: 7/25/2015 1:27:20 AMHand cannon might have a sight similar to the strangers rifle, as in it only displays while aiming. In terms of variation, these are more than likely going to be vendor weapons or strike drops. You can almost guarantee that the dreadnaught raid will have taken / hive themed gear.
-
It says that these are just the 3D models and not the final representation of what the gun will look like. Check out the Suros stuff, they are all white in the individual pics, but in the game play screens you can see the red emblems and stuff.
-
You stupid. If you look at the e3 weapons you will realize that they are the same and playtesters were allowed to inspect the weapons and see their perks. One of them states that if your health is in the red you will have bonus accuracy and possibly greater weapon handling.
-
It's a small look at what is to come. Obviously you didn't look closely at the post and pics because you would have realized some of the perks and the way the weapons look vary complexity. I also wouldn't be concerned about weapons looking futuristic as destiny is set far in the future. You should watch some of the e3 demo videos, it better shows some weapons in action.

Yeah, they look pretty generic. But graphic design isn't my thing, and I really don't care about it. The interesting thing is how the companies are going to have different personalities that are expressed in the weapon perks. This could be brilliant. Or it could be facepalm worthy. It'll depend on the execution, and we'll have to wait to see that. One thing they have going for them is low expectations. If they do even a decent job of it, we'll be happy. If they do a good job with it, we'll be blown away. If it works well, the brand loyalty aspect is potentially fun. In which case, you can pencil me in as a Hakke loyalist.

Another video with some footage and also has info on the nerf post

Edited by Unforgiven: 7/24/2015 11:40:09 PMThere is also a video of how some of these weapons look.

Did you guys see the Emblem and Shader you get for Preorder. These actually look pretty cool.
-
Hardlight Jr.
-
Looks like a expensive water gun or is that just me?
-
there aren't any sights, when you ads the little red dot hologram appears over the weapon. all handcannons do this, even if they have almost invisible bumps/iron sights
-
Why Gjallarhorn is my favorite most bad ass looking weapon in the game
-
If my fatebringer is useless in TTK I won't play
-
i agree they look generic but i also think that's what they were going for... hand cannon with no sights lol
-
The new weapons will be great!
because the old ones will suck by the time The Taken King comes out
Read my posts and like if you agree please Thanks, Bad Wolf
-
I'm salivating at the thought of how massive this disappointment feast is gona be. God I can't wait for bungie to shit all over you TTK supporters expecting anything different from what we've already received.

Edited by GamerCramer: 7/24/2015 4:04:42 AMBump. I was about to make a post and ask if these are just base models without any detail or skins.
-
but how crazy is it that the perks are in different order!?! i mean who would have ever thought of that?? bungie is pure genius im preordering 35 ttk copies right now because of the news post
-
Predictable post... You guys are color by number at this point.
-
I like the new weapons. That Hand Cannon looks sick.
-
Jesus. It never ends.
-
yep seems very Bungie of them...or modern bungie I should say. company has been trash for years now.
-
I would've preferred to see some skill trees. Functionality is what is important to me , not appearance.
