What do I have to do to get a Gjallahorn?

I have been playing Destiny for months. I am on nearly every day for several hours. I have completed every activity except Trials of Osiris. I have completed Crota hard, VOG hard, beat Skolas, etc. Several of the group that I play with have gotten multiple Gallys but I have never even gotten one. Random? I don't think so.

  • Start off by doing some jumping jacks, get your favorite beverage and snack (I like beef jerky) say a prayer or two and start playing crucible control. It's a long shot but so far you are not getting the results you are looking for it's worth a try.

  • they say it is RNG but i am more and more convinced that the whole drop thing is glitched, you Just have to look at the HOTP drop rate and the time it took bungie to react to threads of players farming HOTP for days to see that something is far wrong with this game and Bungie have their collective heads in the sand about it..as you can probably tell, I am without Gjally drop too...

    • Make sure you are playing weekly activities that have a chance for an Exotic drop. Having 3 characters that can complete every activity every week will increase your potential for Exotic drops. Such activities include: Weekly Nightfall Strike Vault of Glass Atheon Level 30 Vault of Glass 'Exotic' Chest Level 30 Crota's End Crota Level 33 Crota's End Deathsinger any difficulty Prison of Elders Treasure Key Chest Also, make sure you complete the Weekly Heroic Strike every week. 9 Strange Coins times 3 characters is 27 Coins a week. You can buy a lot of Exotics from Xûr if you save up.

      • To be totally honest I've heard of a lot of people doing this and it's worked for them.. Stop caring, give up all hope of ever getting one, don't try to get one. Still do all the raids but instead set your goal on something like fatebringer or TLW and not Gally, then it will drop.

      • The quick and dirty answer: continue playing the game. There are many ways Gjallarhorn can drop. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean Gjallarhorn will drop.

      • More than 19 raids would help. Don't know what your nightfall #s are but make sure you do one per character or week to maximize chances.

        • It is random. Just because other players around you obtain it and you don't does not determine that there is an off balance chance when it comes to you. It's just like Casinos, you win some and you lose some. Continue you playing and eventually rewards will be in your favor. Good luck.

Hello, Destiny is an RNG game. Almost all drops are luck. I've been playing since day one and still don't have a gjallahorn. A couple of months isn't that long. Keep doing your activities and you will hopefully get one soon.

        • You've got less than 300 hours in the game. There are people with over 1000 hours who do not have the coveted rocket launcher.
