If Bungie and Activi$ion announce that year one legendaries and exotics will not have a upgrade path, will you continue to play destiny?
Edit 1: For those who would stay... Imagine having to completely replace your exotic armory. Every exotic would be useless except for PvP.
Edit 2: We are trending! :D
Edit 3: We Broke 1,000! This is my biggest post yet! Thank you all for your input!

Exotics should be upgradable always. Leave the legendary guns in the past where they belong. I want all new guns. I need the grind and the chase for the good new guns. I don't want to rely on fatebringer or black hammer for the rest of the game.
-
Im keen. Be like a new start getting all the new exotics again seeing brand new weapons be like playing for the first time again :D (not really)
-
I've had every exotic and raid weapon in the game since a week after HoW dropped. Before HoW I had everything for months! It's about time I had a new challenge with lots of new weapons. If they made every exotic obsolete they would have to release around 20 new ones. Either they don't and I'm fine, or they do and I'll enjoy the fresh new hunt!
-
Honestly I come from mmos so the idea of uogradeing to new stuff each expansion is not new to me, also have you seen the concept art they put out I think it looks sweet!
-
You'll be able to upgrade exotics no matter what. People are just worried you won't be able to upgrade old legendsries
-
The way I see it is that every exotic should be able to be upgraded. Also ONLY raid gear should be able to be upgraded, if they don't do this then no one will ever run Croat or vog ever again.
-
If all the old legendaries can not be upgraded that means: Old DLC items are useless VoG will be useless Crotas End will be useless PoE will be useless Trials will be useless All original game, and first two DLCs will be completely pointless because none of the rewards will be worth obtaining.

Reading this cesspool of a forum perfectly explains how this game is honestly built for casual players who don't like real end game content. "Oh don't nerf my gjallarhorn! The game will be too hard!" Yeah god forbid the game have an actual challenge too it. Old gear should not be upgradable. It was acceptable with house of wolves. Not again though. Too an extent, power creep is a nessessity thing in any mmo. Do you really want to be in year 4 or 5 of Destiny, using Fatebringer, Black Hammer, and Gjallarhorn? Sure that is the best setup undeniably, currently. No one wants to keep using it 5 years from now. New stuff has to be better, and more usefull than old. If you just keep upgrading the same old stuff. Then there would be no point to any new raid gear. I love this game. But it's clear the upgrading system needs a MASSIVE revamp. And Bungie needs to continue doing exactly what they're doing now. Quote TeftyTeft from PlanetDestiny; "Bungie is finally not listening to the mainstream community to build a better game" They stopped listening to the constant rambling of "don't nerf gjallarhorn, don't nerf thorn, don't nerf last word. They are patching clearly overpowered things to build a better, well balanced game. That's what they need to do. And this forum, the way it currently is, is not helping in the slightest in that goal.
-
Edited by XGEN Blades: 7/24/2015 10:00:25 AMThat wouldn't happen because all these nerfs would make no sense.
-
Exotics will be upgradable, they would never leave them behind. I'm more concerned about my fav legendaries. Fatebringer, vision, black hammer, and the fang.
-
They said the same for vanilla weapons... And the vex was supposedly frozen in time... Well that changed didnt it? So probably after 5 months of complete crying and whining on the forums they wll make etheric light 2.0
-
Blam!! All I want is for The Strangers Rifle to have a upgrade path at all. Starting the grind all over to acquire relevant weapons again doesnt sound appealing No.
-
What they should do is allow us to upgrade exotics only, and give us higher lvl raids of current ones, like lvl 50 vog (assuming 50 is new cap), and let this higher difficult raids gain added obstacles, more yellow bar, modifiers ect This way they can keep old content viable, but old gear (vendor gear) obsolete.
-
"Oh no the game will be too hard if I can't upgrade my gjallarhorn" is a summary of this post and all the others like it?
-
Well I can see them fazing out the legemdary weapons for the new ones but I feel that exotics will stay and be upgradable exspecially with all the changes they are making to them
-
Looking forward to new weapons for sure!
-
I dont think they will be useless though tbh, because the collectors edition they are for 80 quid comes with all 3 dlcs why would they sell them for no reason
-
I will miss my Supremacy I did everything with it On my warlock if you want to pay your respects
-
I'm staying no matter what, cause as gamers we adapt to changes and fixes and such within a game. The constant whining is getting old. But either way, if they aren't upgradeable, it's kind of sad. They could have easily added another item (similar to Etheric Light) to imbue weapons with Light instead of just upgrading them to a new "light level". The item is a fallen piece of the Traveler. Imbue a weapon with the Traveler's light. Only one of these per week. Something like that would even be helpful.
-
I believe you will be able to bring exotics with you but legendaries will become obsolete
-
Completely honest? Yeah. Even though i'd severely dislike them leaving behind old exotics. I could care less about legendary's carrying over.
-
First of all they want get rid of exotics because they've said in the past those are special to your journey, second, games change look at wow
-
Im sure some of the guns will be good so And most of the year one guns can be used in all of the current stuff so there's that...
-
I don't wanna be using the same sh¡t for ten years.
-
I'll stay, but I'll be disappointed.
