Agreed. They marketed this as a 10yr journey. I assumed part of that would be building on things you did in the beginning. Having epic battles and walking away victorious with an item you cherish. There is no cherishing anything in Destiny. The mentality is to use what's good while you have it before people cry about either not having it or having their feelings hurt because it killed them.
I wanted this to be a journey. I wanted to feel the awesomeness of having items like Fang and Gjallarhorn drop for me and feel like I'm getting somewhere. I didn't expect those weapons to be the best for 10yrs, but I did plan on having them in my arsenal for years to come when there was a need. I planned on seeing better weapons with new unique perks that I wanted more. I didn't plan on needing new weapons every 18 weeks because the items I fought to get have changed.
I have little motivation now to grind for that "truly awesome" weapon. By the time I get it, it might just be worthless anyways. I'm losing faith in this whole journey and I'm not even 10% of the way in.
