Why nerf Gjallarhorn?
People will always think of it as they do now. If you're in PvP and you get hit by Gjally, you're dead anyways; it's a rocket launcher. If you're in PvE and using Gjally, the AIs won't complain. It just helps you kill things like Atheon quicker.
Nerfing Gjallarhorn is a pointless action.

Gjallarhorn PvP -Tracking: can follow a moving target however can be played and make it hit a wall -Hidden Perk GaH: Can explode at the right time -Wolfpack rounds: If the rocket miss, the WPRs have tracking leading it to hit the all other people potentially able to kill 2 people with extra to spare PvE -An Insane Boss killer -Emptying a full pack will do over 22,000 damage -It can track so it's almost impossible to miss if it targeted the enemy -Like I said it has WPRs which has tracking so it was impossible for it to not hit enemies -Each WPR does about 250 damage with a total of (I don't know how many but a lot)

Whats happening is a positive thing, plus even with this nerf it wont become obsolete, some people will still want it for certain situations. the main reason its being nerfed is because of the segregation, which is a major point for me, but a weapon should not nuke a boss within seconds.

2 RepliesThe real answer to this issue should have nothing to do with ghorn. Bungie opted out of matchmaking for those playlists, matchmaking would have made the ghorn a non issue for the elitist segregation problem. End if story.

Because people who didn't have it complained that they weren't allowed to join groups even though then can start their own group. They have low I.Qs.

2 RepliesI agree. I keep seeing all this nonsense about how nerfing Ghorn will make the game more of a challenge. If you want more of a challenge, how about just not using the Ghorn?? Build a fireteam and find people that either don't have it (which apparently will make a lot of butthurt people happy anyway) or people that will agree to not use it, and have at it with a different launcher or MG. Presto! More of a challenge!

Sry, but some people killed omnigul in 3 seconds with their gjallahorns with solar burn on. Plus whenever you go on lfg it's always, "need one for nightfall must have maxed gjallahorn" It rules lfg, now that it is being nerfed people without ghally will have a chance to find a group. Nobody wanted the gjallahorn Nerf but it must be done

It seemed unnecessary but I'm not complaining. It's not even that much of a nerf, people acting like the guns turning into a pea shooter. It will still outshine ever rocket, 20% damage on wolfpack will barely make a difference

1 Replyit is only because of all the entitled cry babies that can not get the gun....even though they have not really been trying. They think they should be better at the game than they are and then cry and moan that some people have a gun they can not get. If Bungie continues to listen to the vocal minority we will eventually have a generic and bland sandbox to play in with guns that all do the exact same damage and no variety. Exotics are exotics because they are OP. Most exotics have a niche that they fill and should not be used in every situation. Some idiots don't understand this and think their Hard Light should wreck everything in every situation. They see a g-horn wreck a boss in nightfall with solar burn and then say its too OP and needs a nerf. They get hit with a tracking rocket in the crucible and think its BS since they don't have one. Noobs are vital to growing a game. I understand that. But the sense of entitlement and overblown opinion of their own skills have lead to cry babies complaining that their guns they got with out any effort should be as good as guns the people that do raids and have grinded countless hours to get have.

1 ReplyThe Gally nerf is required because if you don't have a Gally. Most groups just don't want to PVE with you. They want you to be in max gear so its easier to farm PVE content. Its easier having 6 people jam Gallihorn rockets up a bosses arse for max dps compared to people taking shots with a sniper.

Have you noticed its started to drop more aswell now? I've had one from vanilla till last week, 1 in over 15days game time. Last week I got one from trials package and this week one from nightfall???

Marginal differences drive behavior. Not using Gjallarhorn, you're sacrificing about 2x the damage - that is a huge marginal difference. Such a big marginal difference is too distorting. That is why there is a lack of diversity in PvE weapon load-outs, and the discriminatory behavior seen in LFG sites. Bringing it back in line will make other load-outs much more viable.

I agree. Who cares if people don't want you to join them because of a weapon. Get over it!!! I wouldn't kick people myself, but that's some peoples choice. Stop nerfing!! It only turns people off the game who work hard on obtaining weapons/gear only to have them changed for the worse(suros, vex, etc). I play to get away from stupid complaining/jealousy/balance crap. Leave the damn weapons alone!!! If anything, buff for the better.

And encounters that take at least a little skill and strategy to complete. But I guess some people want to just cheese every encounter and continue to use the same weapon for the next 10 years....
