It costs a lot of money to make your pc like a console.
You have to pay money to play with your friends online unlike playstation where it's free.
And overall, it's just cheaper to get a 360 or ps3 that will handle 20-40 fps than to spend >400 on a "decent" computer.
Cheaper yeah. No argument there.
Pay to play with friends. Absolutely not. Quite the opposite. Ps4 and all xboxs require a monthly subscription where as PC doesn't. Certain games yes very much so but were those games on console they would still be charging that fee. Multiple games have proved that in the past. They just normally don't do as well on consoles. Steam is all free except the games you purchase which obviously won't be free. Except of course warframe smite dota2 and so on which are free to play games and free to download.
Cheaper very much so at first. In the long run though the PC will be cheaper unless you find yourself absolutely needing to play games like wow.
Steam purchases the rights to sell a game for x amount of money. In most cases to all giving them the rights to sell an indefinite amount of copy's of that game. The publisher, developers get a huge chunk of money and steam gets the rights to sell the game indefinitely. That then gives steam the right to sell the game at whatever price they want. During times like summer and Christmas you'll find games that even used would be 30 dollars for 5 or 10 bucks on steam.

Either way, Consoles are more user-friendly.

I guess. Let's look at an example of a PC user and a console user who both can't get a game to play. PC- Game won't work. Google problem. Find solution. Follow solutions directions. Start game. Fixed. Console- Game won't work. Open disc tray. Close disk tray. Game still doesn't work. Open disk tray. Clean disk while actually putting more scratches in it. (Skip this step if disk is brand new). Close disk tray. Game still doesn't work. Turn console off. Turn console back on. Game starts. Freezes at menu screen. Turn console off. Turn console on. Game doesn't work. Take game back to store for another copy. (If game wasn't recently purchased skip to next step). Try and find something else to play. User friendly my ass. Before you say that shit don't happen that's what I went through with my first copy of destiny. Which was a brand new copy I might add. Multiple different friends have also had the same problem with brand new games. Used games are obviously a risk when purchasing as you don't know how many times its been ran through a disk cleaner.
