Most of us have been on the receiving end of gamer elitism. That's where you get bashed on, excluded from and denied participation in a multiplayer event due to your gamer score, inventory or level. Hell, I'm not the greatest player here by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm not terrible either. Up until recently my own raid team gave me shit for not having a Gjallorhorn - even though I have been playing from Day One. Then I got one and everyone was like, "-blam!-ING FINALLY!"
My raid team has several core members and we have some guys that play when they're able. We talk shit to each other and about each other. We're admittedly a bit snobby but we all have brought along a friend or two on a raid that wasn't as good as us or just really wanted to see what a hard VoG was like. I carried two friends of mine through a 32 POE last week because they needed the armor core. And I'll help them again this week and next week and the week after until they both hit 34. Because that's what we are supposed to do as gamers. Help others out. Not be dicks because they don't have a certain weapon or aren't a high enough level.
Honestly, if you truly need a team of 6 players each with a maxed out Gally to take down Crota or Atheon on hard, then you're a bunch of scrubs and need to get good. If you actually have a true team, then you should be able to do any raid or group mission with just one or two players with a Gally, or none, because each player should be good at a couple of things and that allows you all to compete as a team.
See ya in the Crucible!
