How should we support ourselves?

How do we, as the community, need to take the initiative to ensure that the community as a whole is steered in the right direction? How could Bungie reasonably support us? It's open mic night in this thread. Let's hear some ideas.

There's a great amount of user generated content in groups, much of which has persisted over the years in one form or another. From a subjective point of view, I've seen: Game nights and leagues in Community Carnage and even some Flood groups. Podcasts, periodicals, and updates from P7, Bathroom Reader, and 7CX. Fan fiction from Collective Anomaly. Self-organized groups to solve Bungie's ARGs, like CompoundIntelligence Classic Bungie game love from For Carnage Apply Within. PAX events, discussion, and jokes in Penny Arcade Expo. Art and stuff from Art and Stuff. Elaborate Destiny culture investigations from Secrets of Destiny. Pop culture and community-oriented comics from Bungieball. A whole host of independent guides to user roles, vidocs, achievements, rules, and other junk. The content is largely there, just decentralized and mostly swamped over. A system of bringing that content out to light could very well meet that demand. Who does that or how it's done is up to debate. Frankly, a community consensus could be established. We see similar things happen all the time. Industry standards are made through IEEE or ISO rather than expecting a government entity to (inappropriately) determine what interface characteristics, say, your cell phone has. Likewise, a few mavericks could do something similar in #SeventhColumn, though I doubt it would be easy or quick.
