Cannot beat PoE 35

Team: 34 Titan - Defender w/ Helm of the Saint, Fatebringer365, blackhammer365, gally365 34 Titan - Defender w/ Helm of the Saint, Fatebringer365, blackhammer365, gally365 34 Warlock - Sunsinger , Fatebringer365, blackhammer365, gally365 Each of us have a host of 365 weapons as backups. So if you have suggestions in lieu of what we have above, feel free to offer. We typically fail on Round 3 (Cabal). We can get thru wave 1 (duh) but either fail at the mines in wave 2, or fail at the mines in wave3. Our current strat is to try to kill the psions as they come out the doors so they cannot kill us in our bubble with their Arc ability. If I had to guess, I would say we die more often by a stray psion arcing under the bubble...or...trying to survive going to the next mine. We try to go all together to get it done faster. A possible thought I had here was to set up for Armor of Light while in the bubble...it should help protect us from Psions arcing under the bubble and wandering cabal coming into it to club us. When we manage to beat Round 3, we fail at the VIP Fallen Round 4 as we cannot manage to kill the VIP even with gallys and shotguns. Our strat is to bubble in front of the door and shotgun him...but...honestly, sometimes he just runs right thru it without getting blinded...or...gets thru it blind...and we have to leave the bubble to kill him and we die from ads while trying to do enough damage to kill him. Any tips would be helpful! EDIT: Thanks for all the help! One comment I see repeating is "Found Verdict" which is one shotgun I do not have. I have Matador64 (void) and Party Crasher (Arc) both at 365. For the cabal round, I was using a re-rolled Split Shifter Pro Fusion Rifle with Arc that has Reinforced Barrel and Rangefinder. EDIT: Getting a new team isn't an option for me. The two guys I play with are really good friends and none of us have beat it. We succeed and fail together. I think that is the cool part of the team. We know how to play with each other, we just stumble now and again. When we finally do beat it, we will feel a sense of accomplishment. Besides, I feel like, after all we have been thru together with this game...it would be cheating to "get a better team"...

UPDATE! Last night we beat ROUND 3 on the first try! Both Titans used ARMOR OF LIGHT and just stayed in the bubble...i took TWO arc shots from psions and didn't die. We also beat ROUND 4 on the second try! Using bubbles on the door...forming a wall so the VIP couldn't run out...and shotgun! ROUND 5 we beat on try 1. Finally seeing Skolas was great! We failed on two attempts but both attempts we got Skolas down to the second set of mines. We were not too discouraged as we used the experience as a way to just get familiar with the fight itself. Thanks to @The Queen for your post on skolas strat...very helpful. Thanks to the rest of you who commented! Love the community! Will report back when we finally beat it!

  •
Ok. So I've seen a lot of Skolas Guides already circulating. Unfortunately they are not stating the "easiest way". I'm not going to explain the poison, dismantling mines, or basics like that. I'm just going to point out the Easiest and fastest method. (Killing Skolas and only having to worry about 1 set of mines.) I have killed Skolas at LEAST 6 times minimum every single week since HOW dropped, so this is purely from experience. (I play all the endgame material on my girlfriend's account too) that's at least 54 Skolas Completions between the two accounts! You DO NOT need a titan, hunter, or warlock, you DO NOT need a Gjallarhorn, any mix of classes or rocket launchers will do. Weapons and Blessing do help, invisibly does help, self res does help. So does gjallarhorn, but nothing is a necessity. Any 34 that can communicate is all that is needed. (I've even killed Skolas with 2 33s that have never done it. Communication is key) 0. Eat a heavy synth (yum) 1. Run out to the left 2. Kill Servitor 3. Burn Skolas with your rockets until he gets to close 4. Run to the right ledge and kill Second Servitor 5. Burn Skolas again. (If you don't break the bonds, kill another Servitor and Keep hitting on Skolas until you break the bonds.) (SKOLAS HEALTH 70%) *Bonds Broken (Skolas life Between ,/K) 6. Poison... Just kill Adds! (Rotate if needed, always try to stay on the opposite side of Skolas.) 7. Once all adds are clear you should be able to eat another synth. **Do not shoot anymore rockets! 8. Shoot Skolas with primaries/secondaries only! 9. If adds start pouring out focus all fire on adds. 10. Repeat 8, 9 until the first set of "Dismantle Mines" hits. (SKOLAS HEALTH 50%) *Dismantle Mines (Skolas life Under A in Skolas) 11. One the first set of mines are clear, just focus on adds, rotating when needed. 12. By this time everyone should have max rockets and adds cleared. 13. Now just focus primaries/secondaries at Skolas. (*no rockets yet) *depending on his health, if adds start pouring out before the second set of "Dismantle mines" happens stop shooting Skolas and focus on the adds again. 14. Now that the adds are clear, by this time you should all have Maxed rockets and maybe even a heavy synth ready. 15. Focus fire (primaries/secondaries only) until second "Dismantle Mines" comes up again. (SKOLAS HEALTH 25%) (Skolas life Between S/K) 16. Soon as you hear "Dismantle Mines" - here is where the Rockets come in. Burn him, and burn him hard, eat a synth if needed. (You have 10 seconds before the first mine spawns) 17. You have now killed Skolas before the second set of mines spawn. *Dismantle second set of mines in peace. 18. Claim your rewards Key here is for *everyone to have Maxed rockets and maybe even a synth ready before the Second set of mines are called out. Shooting him with primaries and secondaries until he calls out the second set will ensure you have enough rockets to kill him before the mines start to spawn. TIPS *Always clear adds, make it a priority. *Only shoot rockets after bonds are broken if you are sure you'll have 7 when he hits 25% health (ammo pack on the ground...). *If your going to die, try to die as close to the edge of the arena if possible, for an easier revive. *Stick together as a group & Pay attention to the poison; the only one that should split up from the group would be the one who just passed the poison. *Rotate alot, always try to stay on the opposite side of Skolas. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/130935586/0/0 **FUN FACT (Skolas when Solar Burn with Gally) - 10-12 Gallys to Break Bonds - 36-38 Total Gallys for Skolas @ Full Health to Death Good luck! EDIT: Added a few more notes. EDIT 2: Few More Notes *Thanks for all the Likes, if this benefited you in any way, please Bump it.
• I've always found the 4th round the most challenging. A strat you can try for the vip is one of your Titans with blessing and blinding on drop a bubble on his final checkpoint, where the sync plate spawns. Shot gun the target in the bubble and then get out. Then proceed to pick off ads at safe distance. The only time the target stops is on his final chk point. He almost always runs, even when he's blind otherwise. For the cabal, try and save bubbles for the exposed mines. And the psion arc wave goes straight through the bubble. Just like the arc wave in crucible. There should be between 6 and 8 red bar psions, and 3 psion majors each round. Try to spawn kill them. Good luck guardian. That feeling when you hear Skolas's death scream is very vindicating.

            • For the specialist round use the vex/universal remote and found verdict. Primaries and heavies get a weapon reduction on specialist waves.

              • RE your first edit, Party Crasher and Matador are great for PvP, but for PvE, especially PoE 35 you'll want high RoF. Try to roll full auto and arc so you can fire faster, thats why everyone is mentioning Found Verdict: it fires fast and hits like a truck!

              • What my team and I did was shoot the target when he first came out to take him down a little. Then back away and wait for him to get to his objective spot and then finish him off. You have some time when the VIP reaches the end before the round counts as a loss.

For round 3 killing the psions directly at the doors is a good thing, they must die fast. You can actually jump up and stand on the mines for dismantling, no need to stand on the ground with a bubble. Best thing that can happen: varik's gift is heavy ammo Round 4 blinding bubble is ok, have some fast firing arc shotguns ready. Don't place it too close to the door, maybe it blinds the target better that way, seems like the invisible wall doesn't let the blinding work past it. Remember that the 2nd target doesn't come directly unlike the 1st, don't waste your shotgun ammo on the adds that come before the 2nd target, just let them being blinded. If you don't have good shotguns, try the usual ghorn spamming on the target.

              • For psions - Gjallarhorn. Burn rockets to down them fast as they spawn. No psions means the round is tremendously easier. For VIP - don't bubble directly at the door, te VIP needs to come out some and begin his path for blind to trigger.

              • Make sure both titans are running 'gift of the void' instead of 'bastion' so you guys instantly get your supers back. I'm always surprised when defender titans do not use this perk it's an automatic 7 orbs as long as there are enemies to shoot at it.

                • It helps to clear out a bunch of enemies as the round starts. Seeing as how you all have Ghorn, you should take out the Centurions at the start of the round. They're going to be your main problem.

                • Gjally spam everything in 2nd wave(leave one enemy alive if no heavy gift)and spam Gjally again on 3rd wave of Cabal Have Titan with blessings or Invis Hunter get the Center mine. In fallen specialist you have to rotate kinda like skolas. On 1st ViP round place blinding weapons bubble in front of the door to the right of where you enter to start. He will be the first one out, shotty him till dead. 2nd wave repeat same but he is usually the 3rd captain out.

                • use arc weapons. try a plan c, try a light of the abyss, try an arc heavy. I personally used a maxed out ice breaker to finish the small guys and then use other weapons to kill high priority targets and bosses.

                  • You need a striker titan to kill the scions that spawn out of the door near the tunnel mine spawn. They are really your only big threat on cabal wave, because they can 1 hit you out of a defender bubble.

                  • Dafuq guys. Dafuq. Black hammers? You should be using found verdicts or a dead orbit arc shotgun. After the vex round you should be using a arc shottie for the rest of the game as it destroys everything that's a major.

If you were on ps4 i would gladly run you through it :( A few small suggestions, the POE armor is clutch. Especially the helmet and vest. They grant a huge boost to armor and recovery. Try to get a whole set for each enemy, especially the fallen themed armor. (The increase is equal to "ward of dawn"'s armor of light, which is an 85% increase to armor for the entire round. When you get to skolas, your existing loadout is good, i would maybe replace bh with an arc shotgun for the captains. At skolas, add control is the most important part, slowly dps'ing along the way. Once the bonds are broken, the poison will appear. Stay close together and pass it with less than 10 seconds left. If someone has to split up for mines, let it be the person that is immune. Good luck
