I'm writing new pinned topics to give users an idea of what to expect when visiting each forum.
First off, the community forum shouldn't necessarily be about Destiny. Although..Destiny is a big part of the Bungie community now that it's the new game on the block; therefore, it has a place here (though small compared to the community aspect. This place should be able to exist without a drop of destiny).
Still, community has always been about meeting people, making friends, and well..building a community! This doesn't mean lifeless LFG at all..but planned, organized carnage. A wealth of members playing games and having fun. Cool things to talk about have always been your commitment to the community. Whether you share that through titles, (COUGH), game-nights, community updates, podcasts, friendly competitions, art, you name it!
What's not cool to talk about:
-Random game news not relevant to Bungie
-Topics that should go in #offtopic (politics, sports, whatever)
-LFG spam
-Randomly linking your 1337 montage in Destiny
-Feedback relating to games (that goes in #feedback of course)
-Gaming that doesn't involve the Bungie community (that's for #gaming)...(For example, it's cool to discuss that awesome game night in Minecraft that was specifically held to bring together the Seventh Column but it isn't cool to talk about Call of Duty weapon balancing out of the blue).
-How angry you are at Bungie for doing *X, Y, Z* with Destiny (this belongs in #Destiny)
-Sign my petition, or sign this thread if...! NO THANKS
What's cool to talk about:
-Your contributions to the community (art [although there should really be a gallery forum for art visible from mobile], carnage, community updates, you name it)
-Forum fun (group hang-outs, exciting developments, new features, etc)
-Bungie news (information on the studio itself. News on Destiny should go in #Destiny)
-That awesome game-night (carnage) we are planning in *X game* on *X date*
KISS:
#Community IS NOT #Destiny2.0
Its about 3 simple things:
Meeting People
Making friends
Forming a welcoming community
Side Notes:
-I have no idea why #Bungie is a tag. Should just be merged into #Community. (EDIT: After reading that handy dandy pinned thread in #Bungie is sounds like News forum 2.0, if so a name change is in order to prevent confusion between #Community and #Bungie).
-The community forum wasn't always the most active forum but it always had a strong, healthy community. That's what we want to achieve again.
Bungie Community Forum (aka: The Septagon)
The Bungie Community Forum is for all topics directly related to the Bungie community itself, the Bungie.net community, and the Bungie.net website. Additionally, this forum is for discussion about World Domination, Bungie LLC itself, Bungie Aerospace, and Bungie lore.
^I'm stealing this quote from Mechetti who stole it from the ninjas to add my vote on this as well.
