Now I don't mean that like its something they were planning and didn't do, I mean it is something that they should introduce.
Calm down I know you're probably thinking "omg you noob scrublord you such fail wtf" but just hear me out.
The biggest issue with Bungie and Activision being partnered for the production of this game is that Activision has far to much money expectations (money grubbing asshats). This causes issues because that means now Bungie is expected to produce just enough content for them to earn your interest and earn your money.
This induces the hundreds of "wtf wah wah wah where's all the stuff I'm owed" threads. Don't get me wrong there are times where no matter how much I love this game I feel a little raughted.
The reason I believe they must introduce Micro Transactions is because this (provided the income flows) will allow them to stop focusing on making just the game to get money and allow Bungie to make the game they hoped it to be. This would bring Bungie and the community surrounding Destiny the breath that they need.
Now I'm not suggesting they sell Weapons or sparrows with guns attached blah blah blah, I'm merely suggesting a reasonably expansive selection of cosmetic options, Epic looking cloaks, marks and bonds. A variety of emblems that would appeal to many, imagine how much they would sell if they created an American emblem or cloak? All those "patriotic" Americans would burn money on it. Imagine epic looking sparrows, ships and what most of us have been craving some nice new ghost shells.
I'm not saying they cant sell weapons just that if it is a decision they decide to make (no matter how poor of a decision that would be) that the weapons wouldn't be game breaking, Gjallahorn exclusion creations of god, just unique and dear lord not exotic (imagine the freak out if they sold exotics? So many tears would fall on this forum). Well my opinion is over now, have a good one.
TLDR? They should sell cosmetic items in Micro Transactions so DLC isn't just about money for Activision.
EDIT: Dear nay sayers, no one would be forcing you to buy these things. Just look at games like CoD, Counter Strike, LoL, to many MMOs to list etc, Micro Transactions give the games the funding and freedom to Actually create a great game.

1 ReplyWhy is the word patriotic in quotes? Just wondering. Also I'm looking for an argument.
-
2 RepliesMicro transactions belong in 2 areas of gaming. 1. Free Facebook games 2. Free console games (neverwinter, warframe) If you can consider the first gaming!
-
1 ReplyYou sir, are an idiot.
-
They will don't worry
-
What if they released content as cool as these microtransactions, but in the DLC like we expected? Then, in theory, since it would be a good DLC and got good reviews. Sales would follow suit, disabling the need for micro transactions...
-
How about they start pushing out actual -blam!-ing content? -blam!- microtransactions.
-
1 ReplyIm sorry, in your edit, you said CoD was good? This was already a stupid idea, but that is just sad now.
-
It's on it's way for sure. I'm thinking ghost shells as an example.
-
1 ReplyThey have done micro transactions, $20 here, another $20 there and soon a $40 one.
-
1 Reply...if DLCs were free...?
-
8 RepliesIm sure someone at Activision already suggested this. Im hoping someone at Bungie told them to -blam!- off.
-
6 RepliesNo bitch stfu asshole. Go suck a dick somewhere else. Fag boy

I hate micro transactions with a passion... As I ride off on my guar -_-
-
1 ReplyWow, mirror Forbes much...
-
There should be a player driven economy.
-
1 ReplyI definitely see where you are coming from but the reason they don't do it, which I agree with, is because that specific cloak, bond, or mark won't feel special or that you earned it. Technically with TTK you are paying money for the new emotes, shaders, and class items. Which is a micro-transaction. It was a mistake on their part but they won't do that again I hope. I will eventually quit destiny if they started doing micro transactions
-
I would pay for a legendary weapon with the perk combo I want. Shotgun with Shot package, Hammerforged and full auto. Only possible on pre TDB shotties.

Micro transactions in BO2 and onward destroyed CoD for me. I, as well as many others, would probably leave Destiny if they did this shit.
-
Get gud

-
2 RepliesMicro transactions ruin games. -blam!- that
-
2 RepliesLol. The fact you think Bungie has no control over this is hilarious. They have deadline to meet per contract. Meeting those deadlines gives Bungie a bonus as an incentive. Destiny has creative control activision is in control. Micro-transactions would just generate more money for them and it would take them away from designing relevant crap. Bad idea!
