A way to implement this into the game is maybe having a set time during the weekend where's Xūr's cousin Rūx comes to the Tower and sells Old Gear.
(Side Note: Rūx is super chill and a Great Guy)
Edit: if not tell us why

1 ReplyHave a system to have you be able to buy it only if you were around at the time of sale originally. That way, older players wiuld be able to keep some old stuff while the new players can't get the old gear, as they weren't around. The vanilla gear is part of our legend, not theirs.

1 Replyi agree
-
Definitely, I'd bet a regular vendor like that with rotating inventory would be the most popular vendor
-
2 RepliesNo because no one will buy it or want it, only reason people want it now is because they cant get it anymore and its rare, but if its sold, it wont be rare or special
-
1 ReplyIt's a nice idea, but it probably won't come around until Destiny 2. That's when I expect some big changes, such as the ability to easily unlock/upgrade/customize armor sets. But honestly I'm more interested in new content. Those old sets had arbitrary perks. I might have liked Vanilla Vanguard gear as a style but what if the perks were for weapons and talents I don't use? I think the future of destiny will be something like this: Buy armor (individually or as a set) and customize as you progress your character. This way you can choose what weapon type your gauntlets speed reload, or what ammo type your chest carries more of. Predetermined perks aren't really that good, so it makes sense that we purchase the perks we want as we build our legend.

1 ReplyI think I'd rebuy the Against All Odds. Dismantling that thing was the worst thing I ever did.
-
Absolutely yes! These "expansions" don't expand on the arsenal of guns at all, instead they just replace the weapons. Not so much of an expansion...
-
3 RepliesYou should be able to gamble on engrams from xur/weapon guy for original legendary weapons. That would be sweet..
-
2 RepliesYou should be able to rebuy for a small amount any weapon/armour you have previously owned (like emblems and the tumbler through special orders) so people can get back all the weapons and armour they dismantled! Helps give the vets a little something to stand out with too!
-
They should have the information of when you started playing I mean you had to accept the terms and conditions in order to play, so it should be based around when you start. Weapons would cycle through a set amount of time like Xúr does. Exp: week 1 of taken king all groups will sell that gear, the. Week 2 vanguard might sell dark below and all the others would still sell taken King. Week 3 could be vanguard sells vanilla while the others would sell HoW. The only way how you would be able to actually purchase these items would be if you purchase at less one item from any of the groups while that round of DLC was out
-
3 RepliesOnly veterans should. That would be the perfect gift
-
1 ReplyYes but put the dlc number next to it.
-
6 RepliesNo. All you scrubs can get your own shit, noob's.
-
2 Replies( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
They should, BUT, it should absolutely have the DLC number next to it. Everyone's happy.
-
I personally think that it should be available to everyone (and rumors are you can still get it from tiger strikes) but at the same level as before, and perhaps a hair more expensive for armor, and definitely more expensive for weapons. So you gotta still put work into a low light level armor piece, but in the end get rewarded with a usable piece of vanilla armor.
-
Only if you are a vet.
-
5 RepliesI'd prefer they didn't

1 ReplyIf this is a serious thread, then this response is similar to others about this topic, have the Vanguard/Crucible Vendors rotate their stock during weekly reset. Or... RNG all gear weekly so you get to chose from a mixture of vanilla, TDB & HoW and continue this throughout the game, with Bungie adjusting the numbers as needed or making the upgradable materials more accessible.

1 ReplyYou look cute today

6 RepliesEdited by Darknorth: 7/21/2015 3:58:47 AMNo Reason: Those gear also hold as a minor trophy if not major for support to show that you've been here earlier, or perhaps day one. I don't think newcomers should have the luxury of getting the old gear. Edit: Although if you were here when sold, you have the authority to buy it :)

I'm totally down for this, as I miss weapons like Shadow Price and I really want to try some more classic weapons out again

I voted yes. Only because I wish I had my Dr Nope back. That is all.
