I had been trying to get a group together for my first run for a long time so I was happy to go with a handful of randoms. But I think this had a lot to with the chaos that ensued next.
short version: we made it. I learned nothing.
Question 1: are you not able to revive fireteam members on hard?
2: why "wipe"? And when is it best to do so? I suspect this has something to do with question 1 but it really wasn't very clear
3: can you only get rewards from a raid once a week?

Edited by UnkindRipGore: 7/20/2015 4:44:32 PM1. Team mates cannot revive each other on Hard Difficulty. 2. The Term "wipe" usually indicates if the encounter is going sour and too many team mates are down. For example, if you have 4 teammates down on the Atheon encounter, its very likely your team will not be able to finish it. So wiping will save a bit of time and start again from the check point. It varies by team and situations. 3. Yes. You can only receive rewards once per character, per character, per difficulty. Additionally, if you completed hard mode first before normal, you cannot earn rewards from normal. You earn double the rewards when completing hard first. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12287

You need to play with a group of people who will teach you the correct way. You shouldn't learn the exploited ways of the raid. For example: wiping during oracles and the Templar fight. Find a Sherpa who will teach you the legit mechanics of the fight. This exploit of fighting from the top with Ice Breakers will soon be slowed by the new weapons patch.

In hard mode, unlike normal mode, you cannot revive your fireteam unless if anyone have a warlock with Sunsinger equipped called "Fireborn" which allow to self revived. 2. Wipe is important in many different things like in Oracle Checkpoint your fireteam can respawn on top and easily sniped the oracle, rather than lower ground. 3. Raid is a weekly rewards so you only get it once. Run normal and then hard will still dropped. But when you run the hard mode first you get double rewards, taken from normal mode and cannot be award when doing normal after hard mode (Sorry for my bad English. It not my first language tho)

Revives are not allowed during the darkness areas in the raid. Wiping is sometimes better if things either go wrong, or if a player dies etc. Dying and starting from the check point gives a fresh start of the encounters are glitchy or not going well. Upon the weekly refresh you can run normal mode then hard mode and receive rewards per character. If you start with hard mode you will only be able to per character as hard mode counts as hard and normal mode loot so normal will not reward you if you try playing it right after. So normal then hard or just hard mode once per character. Hope that helped, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Wipe when your team says wipe that's when it's the best to do so

Hello, 1. Fireteam Revives are disabled on Hard. If you die, you're out until a checkpoint or wipe. 2. Probably to reset. If someone dies, it can make it tough - especially early on in the fight. 3. Players cannot earn new raid-specific loot from a raid more than once a week per mode. The normal and hard mode Raids have their own separate loot tables, so the two modes can be completed separately or can be combined. Completing normal mode does not lock out earning loot on the incomplete hard mode. However, if a player starts the Raid on hard mode and completes it, they will receive the loot rewards from both the normal and hard difficulty mode. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12287

Edited by Tigah: 7/20/2015 4:40:52 PMHello. To answer your questions: 1: teammates can be revived on normal difficulty, not hard. 2: the best time to wipe is when your team believes it isn't possible to finish a possible section of the raid you're at. For example, if you only have two people alive at the oracles, you're probably better off wiping. 3: you can get loot from one normal and one hard mode raid perk week, per character.

1. There is no revive on hard, that's why it's hard!! ^^ 2. You wipe when you lost too many team members and therefore the raid becomes too hard, so best to wipe and hope they stay alive!! 3. Yes, you can do normal then hard on each character once a week or just hard once a week for double drops.
