Just gained a lot of respect for this guy. Easily one of my favorite Destiny youtubers.
Edit: For those that are confused, I'm not praising him. His YouTube channel is called "The Legend Himself."

14 RepliesI remember my first nightfall, 3 of us tried and failed so many times. It was week 1, Sepiks arc burn. We stood huddled in a Titan bubble, outgunned and under-levelled, and only two of us had arc weapons. After hours and several attempts, we gave up. **** 1,000 hours later I walk up to Sepiks, wearing ancient Vault of Glass armour plundered from time itself and holding my Black Hammer, a LEGENDARY sniper rifle plucked from the bones of a slain God and infused with etheric light from the depths of the Awoken Queen's treasure hoard in reward for slaying the treacherous Kel of Kels, Skolas. Now I am the boss, now I am the powerful one. I ignore the pitiful minions and hammer away at Sepiks, I line my shots up with practiced precision - this time there is no bubble, this time there is no hiding, only the sound of my hammer rhythmically cracking away at the once powerful servitor like a rusty nail. Within minutes he is dead. I occasionally think back to that time when we couldn't beat him and remember just how far I've come. Investment ... The feeling of being powerful and rewarded is central and critical to video games. God forbid I defeat a god with his own sword and get rewarded with some awesome tool and use it to be more powerful. God forbid I become legend. 2.0 is troubling because it changes the nature of gear we have spent a very long time with, gear we spent a long time trying to get (it took nearly 100 tries for my Black Hammer), gear we upgraded and then upgraded again with etheric light (some exotics had to be levelled twice!), gear we've gotten attached to over the course of hundreds of battles. So this 2.0 feels very deflating, it goes against the feeling of growth and investment. It makes me less excited about getting new gear because it could get fundamentally changed. It makes me less attached to gear I already cherish - what if Bungie decides Fatebringer's firefly is just too powerful for a hand cannon? Bungie, you wanted our guns to tell a story. Well, that's my story. I worked hard to get that gun and it's very special to my guardian. Please don't end that story with "and then one day my incredible sniper was suddenly really ineffective so I didn't really bother using it anymore. - shadow artiste

1 ReplyI posted somewhere on here I disagreed with the Gally needing a nerf. Instead of nerfing it I think they should make enemy shields more resistant to the incorrect element so you couldn't just Gally a Praetorian like he did in the vid and get a kill and it would force you to use guns with the proper burn to kill the enemy quickly. #SaveGjallarhorn

13 RepliesEdited by Key and Mouseboard: 7/20/2015 6:43:31 AMRaid weapons should be purchased with some form of currency that only drops from the raid. It's really unfair some players haven't gotten a Fatebringer or Black Hammer after raiding every week since launch. (I'm lucky I've had 6 Fatebringers and 3 Black Hammers). He's right the problem isn't Black Hammer, the problem with this game is its ridiculous RNG loot system, people complain when they don't get OP weapons after a stupid amount of attempts and Bungies bandaid fix is to make them less desirable. Exotics are another issue altogether, unless it's void burn, Ghorn does more damage than truth to even void shielded targets. The only time a Truth will out perform Ghorn without void burn on is against a very tightly grouped pack of void shielded enemies since the Wolfpack rounds won't focus fire on 1 target. 1 exotic that does need some love is Universal Remote. Currently Felwinters/Matador/Party Crasher with shot package 1HKO at a longer distance, these legendaries and UR need to swap their current performance, but this patch doesn't look like buffing Universal Remote. Hopefully Bungie listen to their player base this time. Hopefully

This comparison of a scout rifle and Icebreaker is impressive.

I like the the "change it to an exotic" idea

3 RepliesBungie needs to make old weapons worse so that the new ones will be better.

7 RepliesThis is about the only guy who can say the G'horn nerf is justified that I'd bother listening to. Though in honesty he could probably beat the game with the Khostov.

My answer is pretty simple, I won't be even deciding whether to buy TTK until at least a full week after it goes live.

Thank you. At last some common sense regarding blackhammer.

3 RepliesEdited by BVC591: 7/20/2015 2:32:55 AM I HATE HIS RESPONSE TO THE GJALLARHORN NERF!!! but I can't help but agree with it. I just hope they don't harm the dps too much Also their reasoning behind the nerf is completely idiotic. The Black hammer nerf is completely uncalled for and his example of how bad it well make the black hammer compared to other sniper rifles is perfect. I wouldn't mind it getting turned into an exotic or changing the scope/aim/assist/weaker perks/mag size for something better but it would have to be a significant improvement. Ice Breaker really should not be nerfed. Its already a horrible wait for ammo(at least for me) so it doesn't need to be made any worse. Lastly I feel that fusion rifles need a pve buff as they outright suck when compared to snipers or shotguns in pve.

2 RepliesI agree with that black hammer is going to be pointless I don't have it yet and don't feel like grinding for it anymore
-
7 RepliesAre you kidding me? The black hammer was op as hell. It has exotic value. Legendaries aren't meant to better or equal exotics. You don't like the nerf? Dismantle the damn thing.
-
I like the first two points but nerfing Gjallarhorn isn't the answer. Give Truth rockets axion bolts that search for targets upon initial detonation (the exotic perk does say prototype trueseeker after all) or make Dragon's breath have a burning aftereffect like the Thorn poison. Make those exotics worthy of use.
