I never used ice breaker because of the horrible recharge rate. I'm assuming this nerf is actually because you can switch to ice breaker, let it charge, then switch back to your weapon of choice and have half a full thing of ammo.

That doesn't work though. You only get about a mag back I think, so its a worthless exploit. Better to find ammo or wait for free ammo.

It's worth it if your trying to hang back like they described people doing. Use your sniper of choice (black hammer) after running out switch to ice breaker, wait for it to charge, switch back. It worked exceptionally well with black hammer because black hammer could last a long time as long as you got those quick precision shots. So even if ice breaker only gave you 3 black hammer shots, if you were precise, you could use an unlimited amount of black hammer shots until you missed a precision or took too long to fire one. Perfect example would by nexus. The other two guys take out the Minotaur, use your black hammer until you goof and run out, if the Minotaur didn't drop any special, switch to ice breaker, wait a couple seconds, switch back, continue. It was only convenient in the situations they described where the entire fire team would hang back and just hit the boss instead of dealing with ads.

The free ammo thing is awesome except you have to use all of your primary and heavy. So say you were running a legendary rocket launcher and had a half clip but we're out of special ammo.

The nerf is changing the recharge rate from 5 secs to 8 so it's completely terrible now lol.

Yea that's gonna suck a bit. If your only using it to get ammo for another gun though you'll just have to wait a bit longer.
