Also, if i attempt to read very old messages, the app freezes for a second, opens the convo but the only message is the most recent one sent or received. And then when I close out and try to reopen the messages app, it sits at a white screen until eventually opening up a new message screen. This locks me out of actually being able to send messages or receive them. Only way to fix is to restart my phone.

Edited by Svedalrain: 7/19/2015 4:16:40 AMIs your phone backed up? As in, in case it gets wiped?

I believe I have a backup on my desktop.

Make sure it's up to date. Then find your messenger app on the store, and look how much space it takes up itself, and make sure it isn't just a huge app. Then wipe your phone.

Edited by FlapjacksNsyrup: 7/19/2015 4:38:50 AMwell it's the built in app. And I just updated right before trying to delete all these messages. UPDATE: It appears to be deleting them very slowly. It finally dropped below 7 GB. Guess iPhone takes really long to wipe data.
