The current state of the game has made fusion rifles all but irrelevant except to a small percentage of the community. An even smaller amount of those who use fusion rifles could warrant using an exotic fusion rifle over an exotic heavy or primary. It's due to this that my favorite gun in destiny is useless.
Pocket Infinity is plagued by a bug that makes the gun's full auto unpredictable in any encounter. The fast, continuous fire that Pocket Infinity is expected when you hold the trigger becomes the slow, initial charge rate between the firing of each round. As much as I love Pocket Infinity it is too unreliable to rely on.
In Crucible you can expect to take out a huddled group of opponents on an objective, but are soon met by counter fire when Pocket infinity fails to empty it's magazine as expected. A cluster of fallen or a horde of thralls that encroach upon your position can decimate you before you fire the second shot.
The only way to currently fix Pocket Infinity's full auto is to swap weapons or die.
the latter can be expected most times
since there is only a small voice of fusion rifle users it is imperative to get the majority of the community aware of the bug for it to be fixed.
So please let Pocket Infinity's woes be heard among the cry of majority. Bumps are appreciated.
Edit 1: fixed some auto corrected mistakes
Edit 2: it's nice talking about ways to balance Pocket Infinity and remembering how fun it used to be. Oh and if you are trying to roll a good fusion rifle, I recommend trying hidden hand.
Edit 4: deleted edit 3.
Ok let's get Pocket Infinity's full auto bug fixed!
Edit 5: lot of Pocket Infinity love this morning.
Also there is an exploit that allows the use of perfect balance and extended mags for one magazine or until reloaded.
Edit 6: well I'm beginning to think it's hopeless trying to bring attention to a bug that affects so few. Bugs take time to fix and I bet bungie has better things to do. The nostalgia was fun but I think it's time to move on. I'm going to just let this post die.
Edit: 7 well looks like pocket infinity won't continue into year 2. Personally going to use it to blast oryx away then I may retire it from active duty.

5 RepliesPocket infinity is suppose to fire full auto plus it's already nerfed so why bother
-
1 ReplyI'm more of a plan C guy sorry...
-
1 ReplyBump bump bump Pocket infinity was my first exotic weapon and I loved it fix it already
-
1 ReplyI like Pocket Infinity, but you are correct, firing is unpredictable. They could slow down the rate of fire a bit when in full auto, just to make it a bit more predictable.
-
4 RepliesThe guns broken all around
-
4 RepliesI love FR, but they hit about 40% less then SG. If taking on a level 32 knight, I can kill him one shot with my SG, but it takes 2 sometimes 3 with my FR......unless you use PI... and then your still useing 2-3 shots. Might as well use a SG and kill in 1.

1 ReplyYes! Well said. I find it very frustrating to use the pocket infinity.
-
4 RepliesNo confirmation on Year 2 Status. Likely at least one Year 1 Exotic of each type will have a 2.0 version, and since Plan C is confirmed to not be in Year 2...
-
1 ReplyVex Mythoclast does the same thing, however when it jams, both guns actually do more damage to enemies.
-
1 ReplyYeah i remember that bug now. Been awhile since ive used it. It was the most annoying thing ever
-
4 RepliesPls die

Another Nechro bump.
-
Thanks for the Nechro bump

1 ReplyI believe the Pocket Infinity should be like how it was with the bug back then where after you discharge the gun, it keeps on shooting even after it shoot out all its ammo. Isn't this why the name infinity? If any of you guys were here before they patch that, will say it does feel more like a Infinity weapon.

6 RepliesI would use it if fusion rifles werent shit. They nerfed them to shit in the first rebalance and are just making them worse in this next one.
-
-
1 ReplyIf it hasn't been fixed by now then it simply isn't going to be fixed, because: 1) Bungie does not know how to fix it. 2) Bungie is not able to fix it. or, and far more likely, 3) Bungie simply does not care.

1 ReplyIt was my second exotic and I loved it, until the nerf shortly after
-
1 ReplyJust earned mine. Not levelled it up yet, but I would like to see them become more a go to weapon instead of a novelty like no land beyond. When things get serious I'd never reach into the vault to pull my pocket infinity out. But I'd like to lol it's just not practical to use n that's a shame. Fixing it would be a great start!!!

1 ReplyYes bungie needs to fix this! I've only played with pocket infinity a little bit but had to put it in the vault because of the charge bug!

1 ReplyI remember this being a pain to finish (rare and legendary fusion rifles) and when I actually started using it I realized its quite fun and good to use. Hope they fix these bugs.
