Matchmaking, if optional, would be a good addition for Raids and 34 / 35 PoE, sure. However, as I said above, I believe an in-game LFG service would be a better fit and for the reasons listed above. I am assuming you read the whole post, so I will delve in to some of the other finer points as to why I don't like matchmaking for raids and high level PoE. The main thing is this: all of these activities have a built-in do-or-die mechanic that will create a significant barrier to those that opt for matchmaking and the net result will be complaints to Bungie to nerf raid and PoE mechanics that actually make them fun. These problems will stem from people being underequipped, having little or no experience and little or no communication, which is paramount (consider how many times you've used the fire-team chat during the weekly). Just because someone makes it to 34 (the current level cap) it doesn't mean that they are capable of running a raid or the 35 PoE. Most of the people pushing for matchmaking either want to be carried or are looking to be paired with three or four people with prior completions. Most of the people with prior completions have a team to run with and most often don't need matchmaking or don't want to deal with a haphazard team that fails multiple times, especially not in PoE, where you don't come away with a shareable checkpoint, like with raids. I could see stumbling through Croat's End to get to Crota and ditching out or same with VoG to Templar and finding a good team, but that would ruin the MM experience. This is why an LFG service is better - you get a designated fire-team leader, can request that people have a mic, look for a self-res warlock, titan with bubble, experience relic holder or sword barer, etc. Things that aren't guaranteed through matchmaking. If Bungie does add OPTIONAL matchmaking to these activities it would be a step in the right direction, but a step I would not take as I enjoy soloing Crota, four man VoG teams, soloing or duo-ing nightfalls and so on. If they force it one us, it would ruin the game.
