Normally I'd start a post with an introduction of some sort but based on what I've seen people saying it wouldn't make a difference if I did or not. So here is a list of why you should all grow up in no particular order.
1. First and foremost Bungie knows more than you do about what is over or under used. They can also see every single number of every single stat of every single weapon and all nod in unison with each other as they say "Hmm, I can see how that may be a problem." You cannot.
2. At the very least this will change the game up enough for some much needed fresh gameplay. If they don't rebalance the weapons you will just start complaining that the game [still] feels stale.
3. I see a lot of people threatening to quit because of simple rebalancing and it makes me laugh. If you can't handle the fact that they make your precious Thorn or The Last Word worse then that makes YOU bad, not Bungie.
4. A lot of people have been saying "There is no such thing as something in PvE being overpowered." That is a huge lie. You just don't care because it makes the game easier for you (and God only knows why you'd play a game to be easy)
5. This one was a huge issue with me (and was stated in the notes): People would not play with you just because you didn't have a specific gun. And it wasn't just a few people either; it was probably even the majority of LFGers.
6. All of these weapons more or less deserve the changes they're getting. Weaker weapons are getting stronger, strong weapons are getting weaker, and average weapons are staying average.
7. It's not like the nerfs are going to make any of the weapons obsolete. Gjallarhorn is still going to output more damage than any other rocket. Black Hammer will still be able to deliver massive DPS to bosses. Shotguns are still going to wreck PvE in close quarters (Hell, shotguns weren't even THAT bad before the 100% buff). And you can easily say this about ANY of the modified weapons.
8. Black Hammer isn't an exotic, so it shouldn't perform like one.
9. You haven't played the game with the update yet, so you all could be sending Bungie death threats over things that won't even matter.
10. Why the Hell are all of you playing a game where every change angers you and you know that every future change will anger you. You all hate the Devs and their choices of what to do with their game yet you all seem to keep playing.
And on another note while I am already going against almost everyone on the forum, I liked HoW, I think TTK is going to be good and is fairly priced, and I am going to but the Digital Collectors Upgrade because unlike all of you I enjoy the game and the Devs and I want to show my support.
#GoBungie. Comment if you want to see me bitch about you all being bitches some more.
# of times someone has commented on this post with no trying to dispute, only leaving something like -blam!- you: 1
Edit: If you are voting disagree and you don't comment why I'm going to assume you think I'm right and you are afraid of the truth. Also my PSN is B-M_E-O_W-M_I-X in case you want to send me hate on a slightly more personal level. Also added a little counter above.
Edit 2: I'm going to go ahead and say why they may have decided to nerf some of the weapons based on how much people disagree with them.
Gjallarhorn - If you have a Gjallarhorn ask yourself when was the last time you did endgame PvE without Ghorn when modifiers didn't demand something different?. It dealt way more damage than it should have and you know it. Those of you saying "but that's what makes it exotic" are most certainly right, but to that degree? It was so powerful that people would refuse to include you if you didn't have it, if that's any indication.
Black Hammer - It out performed every legendary sniper by far in PvE, and if you ask me it still will. But White Nail in its current state it something you'd put on an exotic, not a sniper from a not-so-difficult raid.
Ice Breaker - Lets be clear here. The Ice Breaker wasn't put into the game so you wouldn't need to leave your cheese spot. It is there so that you have ammo on hand if you suddenly need a sniper. The nerf only hurts play styles in the former, not the latter.

You are wrong on all counts. I won't even bother going into detail as to why. But really, nothing is overpowered in a PvE environment. If you don't like the way a weapon works you don't have to use it, and so you can avoid it entirely. Just because people are salty that they don't have a particular weapon that they think is too good doesn't mean that it needs to be nerfed.
