Destiny Weapon Tuning 2.0, in a nutshell

Gjallarhorn now gives you genital herpes. Icebreaker now gives you diarrhea. Thorn has had its DoT basically removed. Black Hammer is now pointless. Scout rifles can't read good. Nerfs will continue until everybody stops using the good guns entirely.

And if they nerf all the good wepons that's more grinding for the new ones

It appears to have been Bungies plan all along, all year one weapons will be weaker and obsolete, once “The Taken King” DLC drops. The DLC will of course introduce a whole new set of year two weapons having higher attack values. Players will likely not be allowed to ascend any, legendary or exotic, year one weapons to the new, year two attack level. IMO, this is why Bungie has been virtually silent on this matter. They have seen the backlash in the forums where many players are not happy with the idea. Players have vowed that they would be done with Destiny, especially if they quite literally have to start all over again. Well welcome to phase one of this being done. They are calling it “Weapon tuning 2.0”. The primary reason for this update is to make all of your favorite year one weapons, not so great anymore. So by nerfing all of your great year one weapons, Bungie is hoping it will be easier to separate you from these favorites, once TTK drops. Of course there are other valid reasons for the update as well. However, I believe the primary under lying goal is to ease players into the changes that TTK will bring without turning them off to the idea of buying it. So this seemed to explain why the Weapon tuning 2.0 update is going to nerf weapons that no one complained about and were perfectly fine as they were. All of this simply because it is now Bungies goal to make all year one weapons less desirable so that TTK DLC won’t seem like such a bad deal. Destiny lacks content, so they want to reset progress and make players grind out everything all over again, with a tad more content at a hefty price. Many are ok with that and say it is expected from games like this. Others are not ok with it. Either way, Bungie should just fully disclose what their plans are and reveal in detail, exactly what new content players will be getting for their $40.

    • buffing auto rifles sound more like another nerd to me. Auto Rifles range was perfect the was it was before last nerf. Now with the next nerf there effective range is the same effect range as a shotgun so your really not helping them out at all. If they really want to rebalance weapons make all primary weapons have the same damage base from there impact. For example pest control auto rifle does 19/23 when a the Messenger pulse rifle does 26/38 with the same impact as the auto rifle but kills faster. Weapon damage shouldn't be based by class but by weapon impact. Just give pulse rifles The same rate of fire as auto rifles with the same impact them. Auto rifles and pulse rifles are the same just one is full auto and the other shots a three round burst.

    • WTF another company is gonna take a good thing a F__K it up. if you have a problem with people asking for Ghorn have xur sell it. if you want to have more people play your game don't piss off the people already playing it (you've done that enough haven't you). lol but the thing that sets bungie apart from the other companies I've bought from is they are willing to do this to their customers the second year and not say oh the 10th like a certain mmo I just quit after playing (and paying monthly) for ten years. who makes these decisions, really, cuz when I see stuff like this I don't believe someone that actually plays this game and loves it is behind the wheel. this is like Bungies Obama Care.

    • You forgot the hand cannon nerfs, with less overall reserve ammo, less accuracy, less range, and then they gone and messed up the ads too.

    • Why try to force people to play the way you think they should with all your nerfs and adjustments. Make people learn how to play with the game as is. destiny has become a politically correctness cluster f$&@ that is sad to see. F what whiners say about things and if u want the gun go earn it and learn to use it like everyone else that has it and is wooping your butt with it in pvp Not wasting any more money on destiny. Buying the Borderlands Handsome Edition and calling it quits for this not really open world game they promised.

      • It's difficult for Bungie cuz they have to try their best to balance between the these-guns-are-so-op people and the I-might-as-well-dismantle-these-weapons-if-they're-nerfed people. Plus for those who don't have them all thy can do is complain and say they're "op." But that's why they're EXOTIC and ONLY DROPPED DURING RAIDS!! If they keep going with this pattern, all guns (exotic or not) will have the same stay roll and/or value and no uniqueness whatsoever and exotics won't be as fun to get. "Oh sweet I finally got the __insert missing exotic/legendary here__!!! Now I can—oh wait Bungie nerfed it a few weeks back :/"
