To skip the reload animation is a joke of a reward! Dumbest perk ever now! The Black Hammer was a great PvE sniper that was fun to use on walkers and certain bosses. If it was meant to be exotic, than make it an exotic Bungie. I would rather only 3 bullets in the gun with 0 reserve ammo, than to have to waste ammo on bosses with a dumb reward like no reloading animation. I feel like Bungie and certain people defending this nerf are only saying that it is 1) too good because it is like an exotic, 2) it makes the icebreaker useless (oh btw does not have a reload animation!), and 3) that it makes the game too easy somehow. Well all of those statements are completely incorrect when you actually think about the game. Here is what I think: 1) Easy! Make the gun exotic 2) The IceBreaker will always be useful to clear enemy waves. I always use my IceBreaker to clear out enemy waves before the boss fights. The IceBreaker is still a useful gun. 3) The gun does not make the game easier whatsoever. Everyone thinks that you can sit there and shoot bosses forever and kill the bosses with this gun without losing any ammo. This is somewhat true, however, most bosses you get shot at and it messes up your aim making it hard to land 3 crit hits. The only bosses I would say that you can kill easily are the walkers and the tank on the Mars strike. As for people defending Phogoth and other bosses, you are always under fire unless your two teammates deal with small enemies while one focuses on the boss. I for one think that it is a strategy and not so much making the game easy or breaking a mechanic in the game. Even if all 3 teammates are shooting Black Hammers at a boss, almost all of you will eventually be smacked in the face by a thrall or shot by an enemy making your aim terrible. In the end I believe this was such a dumb nerf and if it was meant to be an exotic, than make it an exotic I can use on bosses. I would switch between the icebreaker and Black Hammer and both would still be very useful. As for making the game easy, that is a joke. It is called strategy and I believe that strategy is something that Bungie does not understand and would rather nerf our strategies to make the game less fun (Only talking about the Black Hammer though). I can honestly say that Black Hammer was a really fun gun to use and it will be missed. I have 3 of them and now all 3 will collect dust on my characters because my vault is full. Hopefully Bungie will return the Black Hammer one day, but as for now..... Goodbye Black Hammer. You will be greatly missed. :(

I'm glad they balanced black hammer, sometimes I fall behind during strikes and the other two people beat the boss before I even get there. Miss out on some resupply codes. Makes me sad. Thank you for fixing this, Bungie. You suck a little bit less now.

I couldn't agree more. This was an unnecessary nerf. This gun was one of my favorites and now its somewhat useless. It was completely fine and should not have been touched. Why Bungie???? :( Also please increase the Vault Space!!! Everyone needs more space for upcoming content, so please make an announcement before TTK drops!

Actually the whole concept of nerfing weapons in a loot driven game undermines the point of playing said game IMHO.

The Black Hammer is designed to deal a continuous amount of damage as long as the wielder exercised timing, damage input control, and a steady hand. This is not easy. The Ice Breaker will still essentially be the Ice Breaker. But the Black Hammer will be Just another sniper rifle. May I suggest LOWERING the amount of ammo held in reserve (3-5 rounds)? This would ensure that the Black Hammer would still be an effective grinding tool for strike bosses, while at the same time challenging guardians to harness the weapons capabilities. Please Bungie!

The black hammer nerf was not needed at all like come on it has only 3 round and you have to land all three for a free refill that's fine if your going to nerf this free reload then you might aswell nerf the bad juju sure you have to kill the enemy but that's no harder then landing three hits in a row in the same spot this nerf is a bad move and should be taken off the list before a lot of the community gets real mad

It provides unlimited ammo! It renders the Icebreaker useless. This weapon was only good against bosses who have large crit areas and requires very little skill.

This is really ridiculous. Look I'm a good sniper and I have two black hammers and I was super excited I finally got a sniper that solidified me as the long range threat I've been waiting for. I've had it a solid two three weeks and believe it or not when under fire from bosses like nexus or phogoth it's hard to keep up with the shots and I'll still miss one. The damn thing has a 15 round clip and this is absolutely dumb. I seriously don't think that the future of the game has me in mind if a weapon I finally got and loved might I add you is taken from me and I'm forced to reroll something stupid like her benevolence.

Recently got the black hammer, i was very happy and excited until i saw the nerf. Burn bungie, burn, bungie is destroying my interest to the game by doing such nerfs. I bet they will nerf fatebringer too if this continues, wouldn't suprise me...
